Special Summary Revision -2022 : Ramban Admin intensifies awareness activities under SVEEP

Ramban : District Administration, Ramban, under the aegis of District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner), Mussarat Islam, conducted a series of awareness activities across the district under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Programme.

During the mega awareness events held in the twin Assembly Constituencies of Ramban and Banihal, including in Government Higher Secondary Schools Sanasar, Rajgarh and Dhandrath, hundreds of students, staff, PRIs, and the general public took part in the SVEEP activities.

Similarly, a Gram Sabha-cum-awareness event was also organised at HS Bhartund to sensitize the students and people about SSR.Simultaneous camps, under Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls-2022, were also held for the registration of Voters and Aadhar linkage of electorates at various places.

Chief Education Officer Ramban, Dev Anand, who is also the District Nodal Officer SVEEP, Principal of host Schools and resource persons dwelt in detail about the SSR and the importance of being a voter.

On the occasion, a pledge was also administered to participants to encourage them to register themselves as a voter in Electoral Rolls, besides educating them about the online portal for registration of voters on the National Voters Service Portal (NVSP) and Mobile Voter Helpline App.

Meanwhile, students and local artists through IEC activities like Motivational speeches, Nukkad Natak, Cultural skits, and promotional songs to sensitize the participants about SSR 2022.

Speaking at Sanasar, the CEO threw light on various aspects of being a voter and urged the age-specific students, who have attained 18 years of age on 1st Oct 2022, to enroll themselves in the Electoral list, besides further disseminating the awareness among existing voters for modifications in the list, if any.

All the BLOs of the area also attended the event. Special stress was laid on the inclusion of the voters in the voter list, special summary revision, the importance of the vote, and the power of the vote. The BLOs concerned were given on-the-spot directions to include the name of all the eligible voters in the electoral rolls.
