DLSA Ramban organises seminar on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

Ramban : In Continuation of the programme on International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the District Legal Service Authority, Ramban, today organized a seminar here at Government Degree College .

Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam presided over the function, while the Secretary DLSA (Sub Judge), Pooja Gupta and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal were the guests of honour. The Principal GDC, Ramban, Prof. Subash Chander, Dr. Kamal Zadoo, faculty members and various other senior officers also attended the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner urged the youth to lead the mass campaign against drug abuse and sensitize children of particularly adolescent age against the scourge. He also underlined the need to highlight the devastating impact of drug abuse on the physical and mental state of those who fall prey to the drugs.

He also laid emphasis upon the objective of organizing such programmes on a regular basis so that ill effects of drugs, its consumption and trafficking inculcate deep into the society for creating enough deterrence.

The students and guest speakers, including CMO, Lawyers, representatives of District Legal Service Authority also delivered valuable lectures which would help the society, especially youth, in preventing the spread of drug abuse and illicit trafficking in the district.
