Shanti Yatra Organized in Pulwama

Pulwama (Mudasir Maqbool): A Shanti Mashal Yatra was taken out before Gandhi Jayanti by School Education Department which was started from Shopian district and today this Shanti Mashal Yatra entered into Pulwama district.

 

Various school children as well as teachers of Pulwama district participated in this yatra was started from Shopian district and entered into Pulwama at Gaberpora were handed to students and this Yatra will reach other districts of the valley.

 

Speaking on this occasion, Pulwama Chief Education Officer N A Rishi said that Gandhiji played an important role in the country’s freedom struggle. While the Shanti Mashal Yatra which was conducted by Gandhiji played an important role in the freedom struggle.

 

He said that all the schools of the district are participating in this Shanti Yatra.It is for the first time that a Shanti Yatra is being organised by Education department who have taken this initiative to spread the message of Gandhi ji by organising Shanti Yatra and received great response from Schools as well as from general public as student participated with great enthusiasm in the Yatra.

 

As United Nations General Assembly declared October 2 as International Day of Nonviolence. The day honours the “universal significance of the concept of nonviolence” with the goal to “secure a culture of peace, tolerance, understanding, and nonviolence.”

 

He was a firm believer in religious pluralism. He desired for India to be a secular nation and worked hard to make it a reality, during the Shanti Yatra this  message of Gandhi Ji  was conveyed through this Shanti Yatra.
