DDC Poonch reviews arrangements for forthcoming Gurpurab celebration

Poonch : District Development Commissioner Poonch, Rahul Yadav on Tuesday convened a meeting to review the arrangements for Gurpurab (Prakash Diwas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji) being celebrated on January 20.The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramesh Angral; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Bashrat Hussain; Chief Medical Officer, G.A Malik; Executive Engineer of different departments, CEO Municipality, Assistant Director, Food and Civil Supplies, members of civil society, prominent citizens and representatives of religious Organisations.In the meeting, representatives of religious Organisations and prominent citizens raised various issues related to the arrangement of Gurpurab. They requested the administration to ensure drinking water, power supply, sanitation, security arrangement etc during the celebration.The DDC directed the Executive Engineers from Jal Shakti and Power Development Departments to take advance measures for uninterrupted Water and power supply to all Gurudwaras on the Parkash Divas day.The DDC also directed the Municipal authorities to maintain cleanliness in the town and around the Gurdawars. He also directed them to carry out the necessary repairs of the street lights.The DDC urged the religious organizations to cooperate with District Administration and follow all necessary SOPs and guidelines for COVID-19 control.
