B2V3 : Principal Secretary PWD inaugurates Rs 17.48 crore road projects in Poonch

Public interactions held across 71 Panchayats

 Principal Secretary, Public Works Department, Shailendra Kumar today inaugurated six newly completed road projects and a Bridge in this border district and visited Panchayat Surankote Lower where he interacted with the PRI members and general public to assess the developmental needs and listen to their issues as part of Back to Village program.The visiting officer inaugurated 30 Meter Span Kotan Sadwala Bridge, 1.8 Km road from Kalai to HS Kalai, 02 Km road from Shiv Khori temple to Nabni, 02 Km Sekloo Saloonia road, 1.3 Km road at Sakhi Maidan Kalai under PMGSY road completed at an estimated cost of Rs.1.50 crore, 1.67 crore, Rs 1.97 core , Rs 1.05 crore and 89.41 Lakh, respectively.In addition to this, the visiting officer also

They demanded augmentation of water and power supply, improvement of health services and education system and roads to unconnected villages.
Special Mahila Sabhas were also organised during the day in which the issues pertaining to safeguarding the rights of the women and their uplift in the society were discussed threadbare.The visiting officer gave a patient hearing and assured the public that their demands and issues have been documented and the same shall be redressed at the earliest with the intervention of the concerned departments.Meanwhile, “Back to Village programme” was held across 71 panchayats in the district.The designated officers visited assigned Panchayats and organised Gram Sabhas attended by Sarpanches, panches, senior citizens, women, youth. They projected public and individual issues and demands.Grievances pertaining to roads, electricity, water, education, health and other core issues were projected in the Gram Sabhas. The visiting officers documented all the grievances and assured early redress through a proper system.The day witnessed special sports and cultural activities and the participating students were provided with sports kits.Awareness on key schemes and programmes was also imparted to the general public by the field functionaries of different departments present on the occasion. They also replied to the queries pertaining to their sectors raised by the public on the occasion.
