DDC Kupwara reviews Power sector
District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg today convened a meeting of concerned engineers to review the status of power sector in the district.Superintendent Engineer, Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation about the progress made on various power projects being executed in the district under centrally sponsored scheme, DDUGJY, R-APDRP, PMDP Urban besides languishing projects and other Back to Village works.The meeting was informed that 365 works were taken up under Back to Village programme and have been completed within the given times, moreover, 4 projects were taken up under DDUGJY, of which, 2 are nearing completion and work is under progress on other 2 projects.Similarly, 8 projects were undertaken under PMDP, of which, 7 are nearing
Kupwara : District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg today convened a meeting of concerned engineers to review the status of power sector in the district.Superintendent Engineer, Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation about the progress made on various power projects being executed in the district under centrally sponsored scheme, DDUGJY, R-APDRP, PMDP Urban besides languishing projects and other Back to Village works.The meeting was informed that 365 works were taken up under Back to Village programme and have been completed within the given times, moreover, 4 projects were taken up under DDUGJY, of which, 2 are nearing completion and work is under progress on other 2 projects.Similarly, 8 projects were undertaken under PMDP, of which, 7 are nearing completion and 40 percent work has been completed on the rest, besides 8 projects have been undertaken under the Languishing Projects scheme, of which 4 are nearing completion and work is in progress on the rest of the projects.Referring to the power capacity profile of the district, it was informed that electricity to the district is being supplied through 3 Grid Stations located within the district with a total capacity of 142 MVA which is being distributed across 16 Receiving Stations to 81170 consumers in the district who have a registered load of 87.08 MW.Speaking on the occasion, the DDC directed the concerned engineers to speed up the pace of work over ongoing projects so that people of this frontier district get benefitted.Joint Director Planning, Abdul Majeed, Superintendent Engineer, KPDCL Kupwara, Executive Engineer KPDCL Kupwara and Handwara, Executive Engineer STD Sopore and other concerned were present in the meeting.
