DDC reviews implementation of NGT directions at Kulgam
District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today reviewed the implementation of the directions of National Green Tribunal (NGT) in the district.During the meeting directions were passed to the Chief Medical Officer to follow the norms and guidelines of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) for Bio Medical Waste Management.He directed the authorities to keep a check on the private hospitals and clinics for implementation of the Bio Medical Waste Management Plan (BMWMP). The District Mining Officer was directed to ensure that the mining conducted at leased sites is done as per scientific method.The DDC also directed the concerned officers for strict implementation of the NGT directions and further instructed them to warn that any negligence shall be dealt strictly.The meeting was attended by Joint Director, Planning, General Manager Industries, Divisional Forest Officer, District Pollution Officer, EO’s from Municipal Committees and other members.
