World Down Syndrome Day observed at District Hospital Kishtwar

Kishtwar : Department of Health and Social Welfare Department Kishtwar organised an awareness programme to observe World Down Syndrome Day at District Hospital Kishtwar today.
District Social Welfare Officer, Zubair Ahamed and Chief Medical Officer, Dr MY Mir were the main guests at the event. Medical Officers, faculty members and students of the ANMT School of the hospital were also present.
During the programme, speeches were made by the CMO, DSWO, incharge ATF, Dr Arif and students on the significance of observing this day every year. The speakers explained that World Down Syndrome Day was adopted to raise awareness about Down Syndrome and to advocate for the rights, inclusion and well-being of people with Down Syndrome.
Down Syndrome is a genetic condition that affects millions worldwide. Individuals with Down Syndrome may experience cognitive delays, speech difficulties and other health issues but with support can lead fulfilling lives.
At the event doctors emphasised raising awareness about Down Syndrome and creating a more inclusive society. They highlighted early detection and intervention strategies to support individuals with Down Syndrome and their families.
