DC Kathua convenes meeting with representatives of various political parties

Kathua : Deputy Commissioner Rahul Pandey who is also the District Election Officer todayconvened a meeting with representatives of various political parties at the district headquarters.

During the meeting, discussions were held on post delimitation exercises including the list of draft polling stations after the formation of new constituencies and the rationalisation of polling stations.

Deputy DEO Dr Riaz Ahmed disclosed that with the addition of Jasrota as a new constituency Kathua district now has 6 Assembly constituencies for which 659 Polling Stations have been provisioned.

The Deputy Commissioner informed the representatives that a list of draft polling stations after the formation of new constituencies has been released and also asked them to submit their suggestions and objections within one week.

The representatives raised certain issues regarding the inclusion of new voters, relocation of polling stations etc.Among others, Ex-MP Lal Singh, DDC Vice-Chairperson Raghunandan Singh, DDC Member Sandeep Majotra, representatives of BJP, Congress, National Conference, PDP, BSP, AAP and other political parties were present in the meeting.
