All J&K Transport Welfare Association Holds Press Conference
Express Gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Team for Resolving Transporters' E-Challan Issues

Lakhanpur (Jammu) : This emergent Press conference is called today by All J&K Transport Welfare Association, under the Chairmanship of Ajit Singh Chairman, Vijay Singh Chib President & the Presidents of all the Transport Unions & Civil Societies of J&K UT, to take a moment to extend our deepest gratitude for the exceptional efforts made by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor J&K UT Shri Manoj Sinha and their administrative team to resolve the recent challenges we have faced.
Through this press conference we hereby appreciate the unwavering dedication, tireless efforts, and commitment to finding solutions which have not only impressed me but the common masses of J&K UT and also inspired confidence in their leadership.
As it is known that the main & burning issue of E-Challaning being faced by all the Transporters of J&K UT and Local People and the prime dispute of where by Driving Licenses, permits & Registration certificates of more than 8000 vehicles were being suspended.
S. Ajit Singh Chairman with his team brought up this issue and knocked every door of official authorities. He further appealed to the Hon’ble LG Sh. Manoj Sinha ji to intervene personally in this volatile issue of the Transporters & Public in the press conference held on 28-06-2024.
After this press conference many nominated people from civil societies who have pain for development of Jammu come forward to S. Ajit Singh Ji to join their campaign & after a long discussion a 51 members committee named All J&K TRANSPORT & CIVIL SOCIETY CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE formed under the Chairmanship of S. Ajit Singh & this became a campaign of every single person of Jammu because it was not only the problem of Transporters, it effects every person who go from home to office everyday driving any vehicle to earn their livelihood.
So this committee decided firstly to follow all legal procedures and It has been decided that a peaceful protest will be organized if these issues are not resolved. All transporters, including those driving e-rickshaws, cars, two-wheelers, three wheelers, light and heavy motor vehicles, passenger vehicles, commercial and private vehicles, as well as essential services, will join the protest if a resolution is not reached promptly.
The Divisional Commissioner Jammu called a meeting and listened patiently and asked for a time of 2-3 days.Then it was decided by Transporters and civil society to meet Shri Devender Singh Rana Ji, Ex-MLA & Senior Leader, Bhartiya Janta Party who heard us patiently and assured us of his best help and efforts. He also made tireless efforts and talked to the higher authorities about the issue.
Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor J&K UT, Shri Manoj Sinha Ji felt the pain and trouble being faced by transporters and common masses, directed the Chief Secretary JKUT to resolve this matter and Divisional Commissioner arranged a meeting in which Secretary – Transport, Transport Commissioner, Joint Transport Commissioner, RTO Jammu and representatives of Transport Welfare Association and Civil Society were present which lasted for about two hours. Detailed discussions were held about all the issues and the multiple e-challans issued, suspension of Driving Licenses, permits and registrations of about 8000 vehicles was called off instantaneously.
It was assured that from 15th July 2024, those Driving Licenses, permits and registrations which have been suspended or blacklisted shall take their documents to concerned RTO to get their Driving Licenses, permits and registrations regularized.
I wanted to take a moment to extend my deepest gratitude for the exceptional work being done by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor J&K UT, Shri Manoj Sinha Ji and their administrative team, the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and Shri Devender Singh Rana Ji and Bhartiya Janta Party to address and resolve the recent challenges we have faced.
Your unwavering dedication, tireless efforts, and commitment to finding solutions have not only impressed me but also inspired confidence in your leadership. We further appreciate and thank wholeheartedly Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor J&K UT, Shri Manoj Sinha Ji who understood the pain of transporters and common masses and resolved these issues so that the livelihood of those concerned with it may not be affected.
His proactive approach in tackling the issues head-on has been a true testament to his dedication and expertise.I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for the transparency and clear communication which have been maintained throughout this process. The reassurances have provided much-needed support and reassurance during a time of uncertainty.
I have full faith in the capabilities of whole of the Administration and am encouraged by the progress we have made under your guidance. Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor J&K UT, Shri Manoj Sinha Ji’s leadership shines brightly during challenging times, and I am confident that together, we will overcome any obstacles that come our way.
