Good Governance Week activities commence in Doda

ADC asks line departments to streamline public services delivery in rural areas

Doda: Good Governance Week activities started today across Doda district on the theme “PRASHASAN GAON KI AUR.” The week-long campaign on Good Governance practices being held under the aegis of “Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” will continue till 25th of December. It aims to improve the public services delivery mechanism across the district for the convenience of the general public.During the program at Community Hall Doda, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. R K Bharti inspected the stalls put up by the line departments highlighting respective government schemes and their benefits.It was given out by the speakers that the purpose of the week is to saturate 100 percent achievement under different individual benefit schemes, besides to give wide publicity to the UT Government initiatives by way of conducting awareness camps.The launch function at District Headquarter and Sub District, Subdivision, Tehsil and Block Headquarters focused on effective and maximum redress of public grievances.

The departments have been directed to maintain the registers of complaints lodged and action taken for the redress of the grievance.It was also informed that the main focus of the campaign is to achieve 100% ADHAAR seeding, 100% clearance of pendency in issuance of Domicile certificates and holding of special camps in the remotest areas of the district by revenue authorities.Similar events were reported from Bhaderwah, Subdivision Thathri, Subdivision Gandoh, Subdivision Assar, all tehsil and block headquarters, where public grievance redressal and awareness on Good Governance initiatives, by UT administration in bringing transparency, accountability and user friendly public services delivery mechanism for the welfare of general public, were highlighted.Among others present during the launch program are DPO ICDS, ACR Doda, SDM Gandoh, CAHO, CAO, DSWO Doda, DIO Doda, CHO Doda, besides other officers of various departments were also present.
