DC Doda reviews Pulse Polio, other health initiatives

Doda: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vikas Sharma convened a meeting of members of District Task Force Committee on Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization programme here at DC office today. He also chaired meeting of members of DLCC for national Tobacco Control Programme in the district and reviewed the ongoing “Har Ghar Dastak” in the district.While discussing the Pulse Polio programme, it was informed that 23rd January has been fixed for the booth level activity followed by house to house Vaccination drive for the next two days. It was further informed that 70152 beneficiaries aged 0 to 5 would be catered to by 521 immunisation booths throughout the district. 2188 workers from health, education, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and volunteers would carry out the programme under supervision of 104 supervisors.

While reviewing National Tobacco Control Programme, the DC directed the CEO/ Principal Degree College Doda to certify that no tobacco selling point should exist within 100 yard radius of any education institution. He also directed the respective officers to spread awareness through hoardings and posters on hazards of tobacco consumption. A social media campaign would also be run in this regard, it was decided.Further, the Deputy Commissioner was informed that under the Har Ghar Dastak programme, the 412 active Tuberculosis cases in the district are being given free medical treatment along with Rs 500 incentive per patient. It was informed that 164000 persons in the district have been screened under the programme till date.The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, PO ICDS, Assistant Commissioner Development, SDM Assar, Chief Medical Officer Doda, Sub Divisional Magistrate Thathri among various other senior officers of the district.
