Workshop on Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra held at Budgam
One stop solution for Artisans to meet export needs, better market linkages: DC

Budgam : The District Administration Budgam in collaboration with the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications today organized a one day workshop for local artisans under Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra at Sheikh-ul-Alam Hall, here.
The workshop was held under the theme ‘Local goes Global’ and was also attended by shopkeepers and micro and small scale enterprises of district Budgam.The workshop was chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid in presence of Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Srinagar Postal Division, J&K postal Circle Javaid Ahmad Haji.
During his address, the DC assured extension of full support of District Administration Budgam to artisans and MSMEs of the district.He said the aim is to fill the gap between artisans and customers at both national and international level.
He said the direct market linkages shall open up enormous revenue resources for local artisans and will give a boost to both our handloom and handicrafts.S F Hamid said the one stop solution will meet all export needs for artisans and help them sell their products directly to customers not only in India but abroad also.
Senior Superintendent of Post Offices briefed the gathering about the role of Post Offices through DNKs in augmenting the business through global exports.The workshop was attended by more than 60 artisans, shopkeepers and MSEs of Budgam district associated with Kashmir Art, Shawl weaving, carpet weaving, dry fruit exports, etc.
During the workshop, officials of Indiapost explained the initiatives like Dak Ghar Niryat Kendras taken by the department to aid the MSEs to export their products to different parts of the world.
Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra is an initiative taken by the Department of Posts which acts as single window counters for MSME exporters taking care of end to end booking, transmission and delivery of their products all over the world by registering themselves on official portal of Dak Ghar Niryat Kendras www.dnk.cept.gov.in.
The documentation, custom clearance, addressing of parcels, etc required for export of products can now be done online without having to visit a Post Office.Various other initiatives of the Department like Logistics Post and Joint Parcel Product (a collaborative service between Indian Railways and Department of Posts) were also explained to the attendees.
