MC President, DDC Chairperson discuss issuing of building permission in rural, urban areas

Udhampur : President Municipal Council Udhampur on Monday called on Chairperson District Development Council, Udhampur to discuss issues related to issuance of building Permission in Urban and Rural areas.President Municipal Council Udhampur, Dr. Jogeshwar Kumar Gupta, along with Councilor Vikram Singh Salathia, met with the District Development Council Chairperson Udhampur Lal Chand, in his Office Chamber.
The MC President sought the intervention of the DDC Chairperson in streamlining the process of issuance of permissions for construction of residential and commercial buildings including shops, in both Urban and Rural areas.He informed the Chairperson DDC that there are a number of applications pending with the Town Planning Officer for approval, due to which the people planning construction activities were facing problems.
He further said that the Municipal Council Udhampur has already taken up the matter of “Exemption from the criteria of minimum requirement of 10 feet for Granting Permission for Residential Buildings within the limit of Municipal Council Udhampur in old existing wards from W.No 1 to 21, with the Principal Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department J&K UT.
Intervening in the matter, the DDC Chairperson called the Town Planning Officer and directed him to ease and expedite the process of granting permission for the construction of residential as well commercial buildings including shops in Urban as well as Rural areas. He was further asked to produce a detailed report on the number of applications received and disposed of during the last six months.
The DDC Chairperson also spoke over phone to Chief Town Planner Jammu, J&K UT and discussed the issues in detail, and sought streamlining of the process of grant of NOCs so that the general public will be able to get permission for construction activities in a hassle free manner.
