District Task Force reviews preparation for Pulse Polio Immunization

Reasi : In a proactive move to enhance public health initiatives, a District Task Force (DTF) meeting for Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) was held in the VC Room of Mini Secretariat Reasi. Chaired by District Development Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan, the meeting underscored the importance of maintaining the polio-free status of the district.
During the meeting, the Deputy Chief Medical Officer provided a detailed scenario of Reasi district’s preparations for the National Immunization Day (NID) activities. This included information on the number of booths, vaccine availability, and strategies for reaching out to far-off areas.
District Development Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan called upon all concerned departments to actively participate and take leadership roles in ensuring the success of the immunization program. He highlighted the importance of developing meticulous plans for challenging geographical barriers and Risk areas such as Tribal areas, brick kilns, construction sites, and far flung areas.
He directed Chief Medical Officers to ensure that all vaccinators and supervisors undergo optional orientation as per laid norms and requirements. He also emphasized the need for supervisory visits to sub-district levels to review and monitor preparedness for its proper implementation.
Furthermore, Mahajan instructed the Executive Officers of the Municipal Committees of Reasi and Katra to make an announcement regarding the same on all routes covered by municipal vans well in advance. These IEC activities help in generation of awareness regarding the schedule of vaccination among the common masses.
PO Poshan Mohd Anwar Banday, CMO, DY CMO, DIO (info) Dy SP, BMOs, religious leaders and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
