DC Reasi Vishesh Paul Mahajan visits World’s Highest Steel Arch Rail Bridge over River Chenab

Reasi : Deputy Commissioner Reasi Vishesh Mahajan today along with ACR Reasi and Railway officers visited the world’s highest steel arch rail bridge site between Bakkal and Kauri in the Reasi district. The Deputy Commissioner conducted a trolley inspection of the Bridge where officials of the railway briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the World’s Highest Railway Bridge over Chenab and the progress on the project.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the hard work of all the railway staff involved in this project and their dedication towards duty despite various challenges and adverse conditions. The railway authorities gave a detailed power point presentation to DC Reasi. Deputy Commissioner Reasi discussed with the railway officers the prospects of using this engineering marvel as a major attraction for tourists
He said that the district has a very good potential to attract many more people to its historic and natural locations. He discussed other suggestions to make this district a tourism hub which would create employment opportunities not only for locals but other residents of the UT as well. The DC asked the revenue officers to earmark state land on both sides of the bridge for developing facilities for the tourists.
Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by ACR Reasi Anshumali Sharma, SDM Dharmari, Tehsildar Bhomag Mehak Mahajan, Tehsildar Arnas , Azhar ,AXEN Chenab Bridge ,K K Sharma, Senior Section Eng. Chenab Manish Kumar, Senior Section Eng. Bridge Mohit Tyagi and other railway officials were present.
