Good Governance Week : DC Rajouri presides over public grievance redressal, service delivery camp at Gurha Top

Rajouri : As part of Good Governance Week, Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal today presided over a public grievances redressal and service delivery camp at Gurha Top of Rajouri block.
The camp was organised in consonance to the “Sushasan Saptah” (Good Governance Week) being observed from December 19-25, 2022. A series of activities are being carried out in the district to redress the genuine public concerns and also to improve service delivery.
During the event, the locals and their representatives sought dispensary at Fatehpur Gurha Top, installation of handpumps, easing unscheduled power cuts, meeting shortage of electricity poles, additional Anganwadi centres, adequate staff at HS Gurdhanbala, completion of pending work on Fatehpur canal, renovation of GPS Dhara building and construction of Ziarat to Peepal Mohra road etc.
The officers of different departments also educated the public about their online services and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same. They also responded to the queries raised by the public pertaining to their departments.
The DC gave a patient hearing to the issues projected by the public during the event and assured them that the demands raised shall be fulfilled in a time bound manner.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the objective of the Good Governance Week and said that it aims to promote citizen-centric governance and improve public service delivery along with redressal of public grievances.
He also said that the Government was striving hard to expand the outreach of service delivery mechanisms, making them more effective. Highlighting various Govt schemes and programs, he called upon stakeholder departments to synergise their efforts to achieve cent percent saturation of the Government schemes and effective delivery of Government services at the doorsteps of the general public.
The DC also said that a number of Government schemes/services can be availed through online mode which is another step towards transparency and accountability. He also asked the officers to maintain close coordination with PRI members to alleviate the sufferings of the people in a time bound manner.
Regarding the dilapidated condition of PS Dhara, the DC asked the concerned officer to get the school building repaired at the earliest. Responding to the issue of shortage of staff in HS Gurdhanbala, the DC asked the concerned officer to take appropriate measures in this regard.
The DC also directed the officers to put in extra efforts to ensure that all the genuine concerns of the public are redressed during the week besides providing maximum government services to them at their doorsteps.
He also appealed to the public to ensure their maximum participation in the camps being organised in their areas as a part of the Good Governance Week and avail necessary benefits under various schemes and programs meant for their welfare.
