Udhampur Admin launches National Girl Child Week under BBBP Campaign

Udhampur : The District Administration Udhampur, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, today kick started the National Girl Child Week as part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign.
Deputy Commissioner, Saloni Rai, chaired the event in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex witnessing the presence of key officers including Additional District Development Commissioner Ghan Sham Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Joginder Singh Jasrotia, Additional SP Anwar-Ul-Haq, and Assistant Commissioner Revenue Rafiq Ahmed Jaral and other senior officers.
The DC highlighted the week-long celebrations, featuring varied activities and awareness programs such as poster designing, slogan writing, drawing competitions, and wall painting contests among schools across the district.Emphasizing the significance of gender equality, the DC urged officers to sensitize the public and eradicate inequalities for the betterment of the girl child in society.
She called upon stakeholders to ensure widespread awareness about the program in all areas of the district, prioritizing the program’s core objectives.The District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Kanika Gupta administered the pledge to all participants, further emphasizing the commitment to the cause.
