DDC Jammu Sachin Kumar Vaishya demands commitment, time bound progress in RDD works

Jammu : District Development Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya, chaired a meeting to evaluate the initiatives and ongoing projects of the Rural Development Department today.The DDC reviewed the pace of works under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and emphasised the need for swift completion.

The focus of the meeting was also to examine various community projects, such as the construction of soakage pits and compost pits. Each block’s progress in these endeavours was reviewed thoroughly.A prominent topic of discussion was the effective management of plastic waste, identified as a top priority for the advancement of village development.

The meeting also underscored the importance of community sanitation complexes and addressed the crucial matter of legacy waste clearance.The DDC urged the SDMs to collaborate closely with the Assistant Commissioner Development and Block Development Officers to facilitate the speedy resolution of local challenges, ensuring the efficient execution of government projects.

Additionally, the meeting involved a comprehensive review of budgets and expenditures across various categories, highlighting the importance of prudent fiscal management.The DDC concluded the meeting by demanding progress and extraordinary commitment to rural development, as well as time-bound solutions to local issues in order to prevent any delays in government projects.

The status of tendering projects and the progress of PMAY works were also discussed during this meeting.The meeting was attended by Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Assistant Commissioner Development, Preeti Sharma; Chief Planning Officer, Yoginder Katoch and Block Development Officers, along with other concerned officers of the district.
