Prerna Puri visits Ramban, chairs Public darbar

Says 'over 1100 government schemes, services being provided to public online'

Ramban : Commissioner Secretary, Information Technology, Prerna Puri, today visited Ramban to listen to the issues and demands of the public, besides assessing the status of development works and beneficiary oriented schemes in the district. Chairperson, District Development Council, Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan along with DDC members, public representatives besides the general public attended the public darbar.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner Secretary outlined the significance of holding public darbar, saying that the main motive behind launching this government-people interface programme is to ensure that not even a single person is deprived of the benefit of welfare and developmental schemes.
She emphasized upon the people to ensure their proactive engagement with the district administration in taking the development profile of the district to top place.Emphasizing the improvement of public service delivery in the district, the Commissioner Secretary informed that more than 1100 government schemes and services are being provided to the public on online mode.
She informed that the Department of Information Technology has fixed the rates at Rs.50 for CSC for providing online services, besides setting up a helpline number 14471 for convenience of the general public.The Commissioner Secretary said that these public darbars will be a regular feature and result oriented people friendly initiative.
She asked the Additional Deputy Commissioner to review the action taken by the departments on issues highlighted by various public representatives and general public during this public darbar before organizing the next similar event. Prerna Puri said that all the issues will be examined and taken up for redressal in a time bound manner on priority basis.
In her address, the DDC Chairperson highlighted various developmental achievements registered in the district. She demanded opening of Awaas plus portal, issuance of new ration cards, conduct of new BPL survey, enhancement in funding under NABARD, completion of ongoing developmental projects under Area Development Fund, PMGSY, JJM and other road projects besides sanction for issuance of an ambulance under ADF.
Meanwhile, DDC members and other public representatives also highlighted various issues and demands including construction of overhead bridges at Chanderkote and other identified areas over NH-44, development of sports infrastructure, release of funds for road projects sanctioned under various schemes, deployment of staff in health centres, educational institutions and other departments, Girls Higher Secondary School for Ramban, completion and up-gradation of road projects of PMGSY, PWD, opening of trauma hospital at Batote, bifurcation of Panchayats and power curtailment issues.
Earlier, the Commissioner Secretary along with other dignitaries inspected the stalls established by various departments displaying their schemes and programmes meant for empowering common masses. Afterwards, she gave away the keys and ownership documents to four beneficiaries under MUMKIN scheme besides presenting loan sanction letters to some PMEGP beneficiaries and an educational assistance of Rs. 9.70 lakh to the children of 27 labourers under JK Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board.
She also handed over Advance Mobilization Cheque of Rs. 41,666 each to two beneficiaries besides giving away Grahparvesh key to 5 beneficiaries of PMAY-U of Municipal Council, Ramban. She also handed over third trench of Rs 50,000 to 3 beneficiaries of Municipal Council, Ramban, under PM SAVINDHI. Among others, ADC, Harbans Lal, ACR, Giasul Haq, Chief planning Officer, Shakeeb Rather, ACD Ashok Katoch, CEO, CHO, CMO, CAO, GM, DIC, CAHO, other senior officers and people in large numbers participated in the programme.
