Independence Day-2023 arrangements finalized at Shopian

Shopian : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today convened a meeting to review the preparedness for smooth conduct of Independence Day celebrations at District Police Lines (DPL) Shopian.
On the occasion, a thorough discussion regarding the seating arrangements, Shahnai Wadan, presentation of cultural programmes, parade, security arrangement and award presentation was held.The main I-Day function will be held at District Police Lines, Shopian where March Past will be presented by the contingents of CRPF, JKP, Fire and Emergency Services and Forest Protection Forces.
A full dress rehearsal shall be held on August 13, (Sunday ) at District Police Lines Shopian where the National Flag will be hoisted and VIPs will take salute on March Past.All the District Officers were directed to be present along with their subordinates to make the rehearsal function a great success.
The DC directed the officials to ensure adequate arrangements, illumination of government buildings, parking facilities and proper seating arrangements at the main venue besides ensuring uninterrupted power and water supply.
He directed the officers to put in place all the necessary arrangements well in advance and coordinate with each other for the smooth conduct of Independence Day functions.He also directed the health department to set up an adequate number of medical camps with proper staff, ambulance and medicare facilities at the venues besides the officials of Municipal Corporation were directed to maintain cleanliness in and around DPL roads, and streets in the town.
It was also decided that the celebration of Independence Day shall also be held at sub-divisional level, and in this regard the concerned were directed to ensure conduct of the event at their respective headquarters.
Among others, ACR, Shahbaz Ahmed Bodha; SDM, Zainapora, Mushtaq Ahmed; Chief Education Officer, DYSSO, Tehsildars, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, PDD and Irrigation besides all District and Sectoral Officers and other concerned were present in the meeting.
