DC Udhampur chairs District-level NCORD committee meeting

Udhampur : To discuss the restructuring of the Narco Coordination (NCORD) mechanism in the district, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Sachin Kumar Vaishya today chaired a district-level NCORD committee meeting here in the Mini Conference Hall DC Office Complex.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr Vinod Kumar; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joginder Singh Jasrotia; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral and other officer besides SDMs, Tehsildars and Principals of various colleges also joined the meeting through virtual mode
Threadbare discussions were held on different aspects related to the incidence of drug addiction, Nasha Mukt Panchayats, Identification of hot spots, Freezing and attachment of property, Checking of victims account, Frequent contacting, Establishment of drug de-addiction centre, Establishment of rehabilitation centre, Tracking mechanism system, cultivation of illicit poppy, cannabis in the district. The meeting also discussed the action taken on directions issued in the previous meeting of NCORD.
SDMs and Tehsildars were directed to prepare property details for those who are drug victims with the help of concerned Station House Officers in their respective areas and submit the detailed report within a week’s time. The CMO was asked to sensitize and called upon the drug peddlers for further treatment.
He stressed the need for launching a mass awareness program about hazards of drugs in schools and Colleges and also by involving parents . He sought details from the concerned departments about the measures taken to control the drug menace in the district.
The DC directed the SDMs and Tehsildars keep provision for arrangements of identify tracking mechanism, besides Tehsildars were asked to collect Panchayat wise data and prepare confidential lists. The ACD was directed to conduct sensitization programme on drugs in different Blocks. DC impressed upon the officers to tap into all available resources to effectively attain the goal.
