DC Ramban Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary reviews implementation of HAD Plan in Ramban district

Ramban : Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary today chaired a meeting of officers of line departments to review the implementation of Holistic Agriculture Development Plan in the district. Chief Planning Officer, Ganesh Kumar; Chief Agriculture Officer, Ram Gopal Sharma; Chief Horticulture Officer, Anil Gokha; District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Animal Husbandry Officer, AD Fisheries, District Sericulture Officer, Area Marketing Officer and various other concerned officers attended the meeting. The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned to promote formation of FPOs for establishing fodder and wool collection centres at local level. He further asked to make an agreement with FPOs to purchase sheep and goats.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to conduct surveys of land and area of thrust to increase the income of farmers, besides identifying the land for alternative and cash crops. “Start innovative and sustainable activities of farming, lay special focus on generation of job opportunities for youth while implementing HAD Plan” he asked the stakeholder departments.
He directed the officers to promote establishment of Vermicompost to boost organic farming in the district. He further asked them to explore the possibilities of establishing Vermicompost on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
The DC directed the officers to encourage the youth for establishment of packaging units of dairy products in the district, saying that it will go a long way in providing employment opportunities to the youth, besides marketing facilities to the local dairy products also.
The DC directed the concerned to launch an IEC campaign to sensitize the farmers about the schemes launched for their welfare and other benefits of various schemes of their respective sectors.
