IUST hosts workshop on ‘How to publish books with Taylor and Francis Group’

Awantipora (Pulwama) : Rumi Library of Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) in collaboration with Taylor and Francis Group organised a workshop ‘How to publish books with Taylor and Francis Group’ here on Thursday. Taylor & Francis (T&F) Group publishes high-quality books and peer-reviewed journals, partnering with researchers, scholarly societies, universities, and libraries worldwide to bring knowledge to life.While addressing the participants, Dean Academic Affairs Prof. A H Moon highlighted the importance of publishing books which provide an opportunity to reach out to the wider academic community and bring together a variety of research topics, ideas, debates and critical insights that view the same topic from different lenses, thereby providing an interdisciplinary outlook.

Dean Research Prof. H R Naik opined that book publishing gives the author space to delve deeper into the subject matter and transition to newer constructs that are emerging, as the books are cultural artifacts that transcend across cultures and generations.Earlier I/C Librarian Dr.Afroz Ah.Bisatiwelcomed the guests and participants during which he highlighted the endeavour of Rumi Library to reach out to the departments of the university and the society. Editor T&F Group Gauravjeet Singh delivered a detailed presentation on the subject and Director Sales T&FM Gopinath thanked the University for coordination in organising the workshop.On this occasion, in recognition of his contribution towards the library, Syed Riyaz Rufai, ex-librarian was also honored.
