Health Department Shopian to Celebrate Vaccination Success

Shopian : On the eve of World Vaccination Day, Health Department Shopian under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today celebrated vaccination day in conjunction with DHS at Tukroo, Block Shopian.DC Sachin Kumar on the occasion said that the health functionaries Shopian including doctors, Ashas, Supervisors and other workers worked with dedication and tirelessly during the pandemic and thereby succeeded in achieving the scent percent target of Covid Vaccination in the district in the age groups of above 44 years and above 18 years.DC said that Shopian has taken a lead role and has been at the forefront of the vaccination since the inoculation drive was started. He further said that the Vaccination success was possible only with the active participation of health workers, Ashas and others who played a pivotal role and worked hard with dedication, great zeal and in shoulder to shoulder with the health department to ensure that each and every eligible individual get vaccinated.He said that this is the result of the complete teamwork that resulted in coordinated efforts in achieving this milestone. He also expressed his gratitude to all the health functionaries for performing well during the pandemic.

A team of doctors including Dy. CMO, Dr. Rubeena Maqbool educated the public on immunization and importance of COVID vaccination drive. The medical team also clarified general apprehensions and misconceptions of public with respect to COVID Vaccination.On the occasion, Chief Medical Officer Shopian Dr. Arshid Hussain Tak urged the people to maintain basic hygiene at home and requested the medical team to have a COVID vaccination camp in Tukoora as and when Govt. starts the drive for common people. It was also agreed during the event that DHS with the help of CMOs Office will be conducting medical camps for the area in coming weeks.The health functionaries lauded the role of the Deputy Commissioner Shopian who personally monitored the activities of Covid-19 vaccination and had set up a special District Covid Control Room in his office.Vaccination Success Day was also celebrated at all other health centres of the district.Later distribution of award ceremonies for performing best in the field during the pandemic was also held on the occasion.Among others SSP, Shopian, Amritpaul Singh, Medical Superintendent DHS, Dr. Mohammad Ismail, DIO, BMO and other health functionaries were present on the occasion.
