Games vital for physical/ mental fitness : Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat

Kulgam : The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today inaugurated an inter-zonal district level Sports tournament for girls at the sports ground of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, here.The tournament has been organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports wherein competitions for three games viz. Volleyball, Kabaddi and Kho-Kho will be held.District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYS&SO)Kulgam, Ghulam Hassan informed that more than 500 girls are participating in these games from all zones of the district.

While interacting with players, the DDC said that games are vital for physical as well as mental fitness of individuals. Games instill a positive and competitive spirit among the players, remarked the DDC.He complimented the DYS&SO for conducting Sports events in a well organized manner.Present on the occasion were ADC, ACR, Principal GGHS, DYS&SO officials of YSS Department besides the participants.Later, the DDC took inspection of various sections of the school.
