Digital India Week takes off with hosting of digital Melas across Jammu division

Departments sensitize public about varied online services

Jammu : The Digital India Week celebration today took off with the hosting of digital Melas across the districts of Jammu Division. The event witnessed massive public participation along with PRIs, students and civil society members.

At Jammu: District Administration Jammu organised DigiMela at Kala Kendra as a part of Digital Week celebrations under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.Deputy Commissioner, Avny Lavasa, flagged off Mobile Vans to generate awareness regarding online services among people and disseminating the message regarding digital transformation of J&K in public service delivery.

She also inspected the stalls set up by JMC, RTO, Smart City Corporation, Industries, Employment, FCS&CA, Social Welfare, Labour, J&K Bank, SBI etc to showcase their online services.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that during the weeklong celebration, the citizens would be imparted awareness about online services being provided by different departments.

She also said that the J & K Government has launched many digital services in all the major departments which will bring ease to the public and transparency in delivery of services to the citizens.The Deputy Commissioner said that the e-services have greatly benefited the public and brought transparency in the working of public offices.

At Rajouri: Digital India Week in Rajouri commenced with enthusiastic participation of Panchayat Raj Institution members, students and people from all walks of life.The Week long activities are being organised under the overall supervision of the Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal with the aim to ensure digital access and digital inclusion of all.

During the event, different departments of put up their stalls depicting varied online services offered by them. The resource persons of the departments motivated the public to avail the benefits of the same.

The resource persons also highlighted the e-governance initiatives launched by the government to promote transparency, accountability and responsive working culture in departments.

Sensitizing the people about the objectives of the digital India week, they maintained that the week was aimed at making the public aware of the digital initiatives to provide them the best possible relief.

The public also hailed the government for promoting the online services delivery mechanism and appealed to continue such welfare programs in future also for the larger public good.

At Kathua: District Administration Kathua organised the Digital Mela at Lakhanpur which witnessed enthusiastic participation of people from all walks of life.The event began with a live telecast of inauguration of Digital J&K Week by LG J&K UT at SKICC, Srinagar.

As many as 25 stalls were put up by different departments, agencies, banks etc to create public awareness about over 200 online services launched by the government.The week-long event will showcase citizen centric IT initiatives that have helped in bringing about greater transparency in governance and ease of living for citizens besides generating awareness about digital solutions and new technologies.

DDC Chairperson Mahan Singh, Vice Chairman DDC Raghunandan Singh, SSP Kathua R.C Kotwal, DDC Member Keerian Gandyal, DDC Member Gujjroo Nagrota, ADC Atul Gupta, ACR Sandeep Seointra and district officers attended the inaugural day event.

The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for visit of school and college students to acquaint them with the saga of digital transformation that Jammu & Kashmir has achieved besides inspiring them to contribute towards making a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy.

On the occasion, DDC Chairperson Mahan Singh flagged off a Mobile Van to spread the message of digital transformation across the district.Earlier, a theme based Nukkad Natak was presented by the local artists to aware and encourage the masses to avail array of online services being offered by the government to ease the lives of citizens.

Later, the DDC Chairperson also gave away online generated land pass books to the local land holders which received appreciation by the public who witnessed the ceremony.

AT DODA: As a part of the Digital week Celebrations which commenced from today all over the UT of J&K, under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the District Administration Doda hosted the inaugural event of the campaign here at Community Hall.

Chairman DDC Doda Dhananter Singh Kotwal formally inaugurated the DIGI Mela and launched the Digital week awareness campaign.Different Departments put up their stalls displaying their online services.

The Chairman inspected the stalls and enquired about the services being delivered to the general public henceforth through online mode. He asked the line departments to put in extra efforts to spread awareness about the online services among the general public so that the real aim and objective of the initiative was realized in letter and spirit.

The DIGI Mela will continue till July 27 .The Chairman DDC doda also flagged off the Mobile awareness van (DIGI Yatra) from the venue to give wide publicity about the program in the rural areas till 31st of July.

Later, few more awareness vans would be pressed in to educate the people of far flung areas about the DIGITAL initiatives.The ADC informed that each awareness van has two IT resource persons who will provide detailed information to the general public about the online services.

Meanwhile, the Chairman DDC handed over online generated land pass books to the residents of Malwas revenue village.Similar events were held at Sub Divisions and Tehsil level wherein the BDC Chairpersons, DDC Councillors along with SDMs, Tehsildars attended the program.

AT UDHAMPUR: To promote Digital services in the district, a Digi week mela was organized by District Administration Udhampur at Riwayat Banquet Hall.District Development Council Vice Chairperson Juhi Manhas Pathania was the chief guest, who formally inaugurated the Digi-Mela.

At the outset, ACR Rafiq Ahmed Jaral briefed about the various digital services being offered in the District by Revenue and other departments. He also spoke about various digital services launched by the Government of India and UT Administration for the welfare of the general public.

He requested the citizens to come forward and avail the maximum benefits of these digital services.Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest expressed happiness over the government’s initiative of organising the digital mela and to bring services at the doorstep of masses through online mode.

“Digital India” campaign has been launched by the government of India to uplift the usage of technology and its interface for the public welfare and bring transparency in official functioning” she maintained.

She said the objective was to make Government services easily available to all the citizens through IT enabled interface and augmenting its infrastructure all over the country.The Vice chairperson urged administration to work on improving internet connectivity and extend the connectivity to the remotest areas of the district.

She hailed different online initiatives and made special mention of educational e-resources like e-Pathshala audio lessons , digital textbooks, periodicals and numerous print and non-print materials through the website as well as through mobile app.Juhi Pathania appealed to people to participate in this digital week and avail maximum benefit of the e-services being provided by different departments.

Later, the DDC Vice Chairperson along with ADC Mohammad Syed Khan took a round and inspected the stalls set up by different departments for disseminating information about various welfare and other schemes of the GOI. She interacted with the officers and reviewed the progress of these schemes on ground.Later, the Chief Guest distributed land pass books among the land holders.

AT SAMBA: District Administration Samba organized Digital Week 2022 amidst huge participation of locals here in the conference hall of the DC office.The Chief Guest, Chairman, District Development Council, Keshav Dutt Sharma accompanied by Vice Chairman DDC Balwan Singh, and BDC Chairman, DDC members and other PRI members attended the inaugural function.

Over 30 departments put up their stalls depicting varied online services provided by them.The District Administration Samba showcased more than 120 online government services provided by department of Revenue, tourism, social welfare, ICDS, Transport department, PDD, Jal Shakti, PWD, Labour Department, RDD, housing and Urban development, health, geology and mining, cooperatives, Agriculture and various others.

The people were educated about the services like online filling of registration of cooperative society, applications for livelihood schemes, e- ration cards, SC/ST certificates, Fard Issuances, PwD certificates. They were also imparted awareness on apps like E-unnat, E-kosh, Digilocker, UMANG, RAS, e-Office, Jk.mygov.in, apka mobile apka daftar, apki Zameen Apni Nigrani, and others services.

The Digital Melas were also organised across 9 at Block headquarters where similar activities were held amid huge participation of people.AT RAMBAN: Digital Week Mela, 2022 commenced in district Ramban amid huge public participation where different departments imparted awareness to visitors about the online services at their stalls.

Chairperson, District Development Council, Dr. Shanshad Shan along with PRIs and officers participated in the inaugural function of mela which was virtually inaugurated by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir at SKICC, Srinagar.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairperson said that “Digital J&K week will showcase citizen-centric IT initiatives that have helped in bringing about greater transparency in governance and ease of living for citizens. Digi-Mela in districts will generate awareness about digital solutions and new technologies, she added.

The Chairperson said that the objective of celebrating Digital J&K Week is to popularize and promote the e-Services made available by the Government for the general masses.

During the programme, people were sensitized about the 209 On-Line services integrated with Rapid Assessment System (RAS) through PowerPoint presentations and hands-on training.

The ADDC said that Digital J&K week would showcase citizen-centric IT initiatives. “The District Administration in collaboration with National Informatics centre, Ramban will organize a series of informative and result-oriented events throughout the digital week celebration across the District” he added. AT REASI: To generate awareness among the masses about e-services, District Administration Reasi organized Digi-week mela in the premises of the DC Office Complex Auditorium.District Development Council Chairperson, Saraf Singh Nag was the chief guest, who formally inaugurated the mela.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest appreciated the tireless efforts made by district administration for organizing Digi week mela.He added that the “Digital India” campaign was launched by the government of India to use technology for providing e-services to citizens of India.

“The objective is to make Government e-services easily available to the citizens by improving its IT enabled infrastructure all over the country” he added. The Chairperson hailed the provision of online services made available by the Reasi administration for the welfare of the general public.

Saraf urged the general public of the district to participate in this digital week and avail benefit of the online schemes provided by different departments.The DDC Vice Chairperson along with ADDC Jyoti Slathia , CPO Sunita Kanchan & Other district heads took a round and inspected the stalls set up by various departments.

AT KISHTWAR: As a part of Digital Week activities launched by the government of the UT of J&K, a three day Digital JK Mela began here at District Kishtwar.The Digital Mela was organised by District Administration, in collaboration with all line departments and under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Sharma here at the Conference Hall of DC Office complex Kishtwar.

The live streaming of inauguration of the Digital week by LG J&K Manoj Sinha was also held on the occasion.The participants, after listening to the inaugural speech of the HLG J&K, visited the stalls put up by different departments and learnt about various designated online services provided by these departments.

On the spot online services were also provided to beneficiaries during the Digital JK Mela. People were imparted awareness at each stall through hoardings and one to one interaction by technical staff of the departments.Similar activities were also conducted at other places of district Kishtwar.

AT POONCH: The live streaming of the launch of Digital J&K Week was hosted by the district administration Poonch here at Indoor Stadium. As many as 16 stalls were set up by different departments of District Poonch showcasing their e-services available for the general public.

Digital Mela was attended by DDC Chairperson, Tazeem Akther, Vice Chairperson, Ashfaq Ahmed, DDC members, BDC chairpersons and officers of district administration, PRIs, students and a large number of people. Scores of people got themselves registered for Ayushman Bharat health card.
