Demonstration Camp regarding ‘Aapki Zameen, Aapki Nigrani’ held during Block Diwas at Harwan

DC Srinagar listens to public grievances, inspects developmental works

Srinagar : To get first-hand appraisal of the public grievances, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Wednesday presided over the weekly Block Diwas programme at Harwan Block of the District to bring administration to door steps of people for on spot resolution of public issues. Vice Chairman, District Development Council, Srinagar, Bilal Ahmad, other PRI members and people of Harwan Block and adjoining areas participated in the Block Diwas.On the occasion, delegations from different Panchayats, besides scores of individuals apprised the DDC about the problems being faced by them in day to day life.The DDC interacted with the local people and received first hand appraisal about the public issues and demands.The demands that were highlighted at the event include completing construction work on AYUSH Hospital and Computer Centre cum Library, construction of culvert and upgradation of link roads, opening up of J&K Bank Branch, installation of Mobile Tower and augmentation of filtration Plant, besides other local issues.The DDC along with other officers gave patient hearing to the people and passed on the spot instructions to the concerned departments for time bound redressal of public grievances.He said that the District Administration is taking all possible measures to ensure people see better facilities during the ensuing winter season.

Meanwhile, the DDC also highlighted the significance of the recent initiative of the Government regarding digitization of Land records on the Land Record Information System (LRIS) (Aapki Zameen Aapki Nigrani).He said the initiative is aimed to facilitate easy online access to the Land Records System, thereby reducing manipulation of the Land Records, besides improving the efficiency of Revenue Offices substantially.He further said the purpose of the programme is to modernize management of land records, further improve transparency in the land records maintenance system, thus reducing scope of land/property disputes, and facilitate conclusive titles to immovable properties.During the Block Diwas, the concerned Revenue Officers gave a detailed demonstration on the Land Record Information System(LRIS) (Aapki Zameen Aapki Nigrani), that can be accessed on http://landrecords.jk.gov.in.It was informed that it is a web-based application that helps computerization and digitization of land records, survey/resurvey and updation of all survey and settlement records, Integration of property registration with land records and cadastral maps for increasing authenticity and security of data.Later, the DDC visited various developmental sites including under construction AYUSH Hospital and inspected the pace of the works.District Programme Officer, ICDS, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Commissioner Development, Tehsildar North, District Panchayat Officer and other District Officers were also present on the occasion.
