DDC Rajouri listens to Public issues at Block Diwas in Doongi

Rajouri : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan today listened to the public issues here at weekly Block Diwas hearing held in Block Doongi.Among the others, Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandan Kohli; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SE PWD, Shahid Latief; SE Jal Shakti, SR Shukla; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; CEO Education, Gulzar Hussain; DFO Rajouri, Arshdeep; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; DPO, Chander Kant Bhagat; Executive Engineers of PWD, PDD and Jal Shakti besides other district and sectoral officers were present during the programme.BDC Chairperson Doongi, Raiz Chowdhury; DDC Member Doongi, Khalid Chowdhury; Sarpanchs, Panchs and people in large numbers from all walks of life participated in the event.PRIs and locals from Sasal Kote, Agrati, Challas, Shahpur, Derian, Chakli, Bagla, Mehari, Jatote, Khalwat, Sarol, Keri, Narian West and other adjoining areas projected several issues and demands including augmentation of water and power supply, macadamization and repair and renovation of roads, better health care services and other related issues were raised during the programme.Specific issues projected on the occasion included completion of work on water supply scheme at Jatote, provision of PHE pipes, completion of work on Keri to Shahpur bridge, construction of road from Shahpur to Khanka Dhera, the road from Tridwal to Jatote, the road from Kallar to Sawani, sanctioning of old age and widow pension etc.Other issues include the construction of road from the main road to Shamshan Ghat at SasalKote, repairing of the road from Sasal Kote to Challas, sanctioning of additional bunkers for the border residents, construction of a filtration plant at Challas, the paucity of staff at Health and Wellness centre at Challas, lack of ambulance etc.
The public also demanded a lift irrigation scheme at Jatote, sanctioning of funds under BADP, sanctioning of a PHC at Keri, tehsil status for Doongi, repair and renovation of Middle School Narian, the inclusion of eligible beneficiaries in BPL list, sanctioning of a Health and Wellness centre at Narian and Thathayali, sanctioning of a bank branch at Narian and Doongi, trauma centre at Narian, sports stadium at Doongi and Sangpur, delay in the execution of work on dug well at Narian and other related issues were also raised on the occasion.Other issues include sanctioning a Sainik school, Anganwadi centres for every ward of the block, up-gradation of PHC at Kallar, blacktopping of the road from Keri to Lagoon, the opening of a seed centre at Bagla, construction of road from Danmakot to Agrati, construction of a boundary wall of High School at Danma and road from Mubarakpura to Muagali were projected in the public outreach programme.About the construction of the border bunkers, the DDC informed that the executing agencies have been directed to complete the work on all the bunkers in the district by the end of April this year. He also said that after the completion of work on these bunkers, a proposal for sanctioning additional bunkers shall be sent to the concerned authorities for approval.Regarding the issue of shortage of drinking water facility, the DDC informed that instructions have already been passed to the concerned authorities of the Jal Shakti Department to complete the work on ongoing water supply schemes at the earliest and the issue of water scarcity will be redressed once the schemes are completed.About the pending payments under SBM, the DDC asked the DPO to submit the list of the beneficiaries to whom the payments are to be made within one day so that the issue can be redressed within the shortest possible time.DDC informed that the district administration has set a target of constructing 1000 Kulhs in one month. He asked the public to identify the place where Kulhs can be constructed so that there is no shortage of water for irrigation purpose besides the DDC also informed that the district administration has also decided to ensure that all the schools and the Anganwadi centres have drinking water and toilet facility and work in this regard will be started soon.For the establishment of a seed centre at panchayat Bagla, the DDC asked the concerned officer from the Agriculture Department to open a seed centre at the panchayat to facilitate the farmers of the area.
