DDC Doda holds interaction with the ULB representatives of district

Doda : District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode held an interaction with the elected representatives of the Urban local bodies of the district, here today.The Executive officers of all the three Municipal Committees of Doda, Thathri and Bhaderwah apprised the DDC about the revenue generation and expenditure, besides informed about the physical and financial position of the various developmental projects/ works taken up under different heads like 14th FC, District Capex, IDMT, PMAY Urban and SBM.The DDC took the scheme wise review of the works and directed the executing agencies to maintain quality and take up all the proposed works under district capex at the earliest.While reviewing the status of PMAY houses and IHHL units, the DDC directed the concerned authorities to geo tag the approved PMAY houses.The DDC also directed the Executive Officer Doda to share the list of beneficiaries of IHHL with the MC President along with the account numbers, so that the list of beneficiaries can be verified and authenticated.Reviewing the status of works taken up under 14th FC, the DDC was informed that majority of the works have been completed and new plan has already been submitted to the concerned quarters for final approval.
The DDC asked the ULB members to project the works which benefit maximum number of people. The DDC asked them to propose one big project in their respective areas for every year so that more community projects can be created for the convenience of the general public.Meanwhile, the representatives also highlighted various issues regarding PHE, PDD and PWD departments, They called for decongestion of the towns, proper ducting of water pipelines, blacktopping of link roads of the town area, cleanliness of the big nallahs, replacement of wooden electric poles, water pipelines going through the drains where alternate supply has been provided to the public, construction of multi storied bus stand at Doda, provision of adequate health staff, equipping the MCs with more funds, monthly review meetings with the concerned authorities, blacktopping of the Doda- Bhaderwah road, separate bus stand at Thathri, besides other issues.Responding to the demands, the DDC directed the Ex En PHE to remove the pipes in the areas where already alternate supply has been given with immediate effect besides directed him to cut all the illegal water connections from springs and submit the compliance report to DDC office within two days, positively.The executing agencies viz PDD, PWD, PHE department were directed not to start any new work within the MC limits until the damage compensation is not given to the respective MC.The DDC Informed the President MC Doda that PWD has already prepared the DPR and design for the multi storey bus stand for Doda town and the work would be started as soon as the project is approved.
The DDC also said that district administration is persistently working for the improvement of Tourism Infrastructure of the district particularly in Bhaderwah area. He said the augmentation of the TRC building at Teligarh resort was done recently.The DDC also informed them about the preliminary work on Chattergala Tunnel has been completed and the main work would be started soon. He further informed the work on the ambitious High Altitude Medicinal Institute project would also be started soon as the land has been already identified by the district administration.For Thathri, the DDC directed the AEE PWD to prepare a DPR for the construction of separate bus stand there and to submit the report to the DDC Office within 7 days. The PDD was asked to verify the buildings which are on rented accommodation and fix the load of the same as per the family and also explore the scope for having a separate feeder of Thathri town.The DDC motivated the ULB Representatives to generate their own resources for the smooth and independent functioning of the institution and ensure that the funds made available are judiciously utilised in their respective wards.The DDC also lauded the cooperation of the ULB members during the Covid-19 management and asked them to maintain the spirit and to keep highlighting the public interest issues with utmost importance.
