DDC Chairperson Kishtwar reviews District Capex Budget plan

Asks Council members to ensure judicious,   rational  use of resources

District Development Council chairperson, Pooja Thakur today reviewed the physical and financial status of activities taken up under District Capex Budget 2020-21 and development plans proposed for 2021-22 at the meeting of the Council. She also took stock of progress of the ongoing iconic developmental projects in the district.

District Development Commissioner, Ashok Sharma, BDC chairpersons, DDC members, Additional District Development Commissioner(CEO DDC), Joint Director Planning, Assistant Commissioner Development, BDOs, XEns    besides other district officers  attended the meeting.At the outset ADDC  (CEO District Development Council) briefed the house about the  guidelines, roles and responsibilities for the conduct of the quarterly meetings of the newly formed District Development Council.The Council discussed the developmental activities and sought details about physical and financial status of the various works.Joint Director Planning apprised the House about the projected plans in Capex budget 2021-22, besides   the set targets and achievements made so far in  the execution of  various iconic projects in the district.The Chairperson was given a sector wise briefing of different works and presented in depth details about these projects through power point presentation.

The DDC Chairperson asked the executing agencies to adhere to the time-line set for the projects to provide early benefit to the people.She directed the heads of all the concerned departments to work in a collective and responsible manner to achieve tangible results.During the meeting various impediments faced by the executing departments were also discussed.The Chairperson  assured  full co-operation and urged  the DDC members and members of PRIs  to monitor the quality and pace of work in their respective areas  to ensure that the grassroots level democracy is implemented in true spirit.Besides, she urged them to act as a bridge between the people and District Administration to facilitate   effective and prompt redress of public grievances. She said that there are various pro-people schemes which are meant for the convenience and welfare of the people living in the far off places as well as in the urban areas and these needs to be taken up with utmost sincerity and dedication.On the occasion, the DC, Ashok Sharma directed all the departments to submit their progress as well as plans to the DDC Chairperson’ s office on priority basis.The BDC chairpersons and DDC members highlighted various issues pertaining to their areas and appealed to the DDC chairperson and the Deputy Commissioner for their intervention and proper follow up.
