DC Udhampur flags off farmers’ tour to SKUAST Jammu

Udhampur : District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib, today flagged off a group of 53 Farmers Orchardists of the District for one day Training-Cum-Exposure Visit to SKUAST, Jammu.Salil Kumar Gupta, Chief Horticulture Officer, Udhampur briefed the farmers about the objectives and initiatives of the Horticulture Department towards welfare of the farming community.

He informed that the farmers will visit Miran Sahib to witness the Horticulture Plantation Drive by Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare along with Kailash Chowdhary & Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, MOS for Agriculture & Farmer Welfare.Later, the farmers arrived at SKUAST, Chatha Jammu & learned about new technologies in the field of Horticulture. The visiting dignitaries interacted with the farmers / orchardists and appreciated the efforts of the orchardists in the Development of J&K economy.
