DC Kulgam visits far-off Waltengoo Naad area; holds public darbar

Kick starts plantation drive in the area

Kulgam : Taking governance at the door steps of people and to get first hand appraisal of grievances, issues and demands of people living in far-off areas, the Deputy Commissioner, (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today visited far-flung areas in Kund valley and also held a grievance redressal camp at a hilly hamlet Waltengoo Naad, here.During the grievance redressal camp, locals and the PRI members called upon the DC and raised various demands and issues for disposal.Several delegations from ST population also participated in the camp and flagged-off their issues and demands. They also demanded to construct cattle sheds near Waltengoo hutments.People of the area also demanded a Sheep Husbandry unit in the area and augmentation of staff at Razloo hospital. ACD Kulgam, Mohammad Imran Khan on the spot informed the people that the concerned officers have been directed to prepare DPR for Cow sheds near the site of Hutments.

He also appraised the chair that against the demand of the playfield, land has been identified and work is under progress at the playfield.The DC earlier kicked off a plantation drive in the area which was organized by RDD-IWMP Kulgam.He instructed the officers of RDD, Forest and other departments to start a massive plantation drive in close coordination with the local populace to plant more trees.Later, the DC also visited the playfield site and took stock of the process of development of this playfield which is under the execution of the Rural Development Department.He also visited Ziyarat Shareef Hazrat Noor Shah Wali Baghdadi RA at Kund and interacted with Ziyarat management.En-route, the DC visited the Tehsil office at Devsar and took stock of the functioning of the office. He also visited Pathwar Khana and interacted with people.
