DC Baramulla presides over Block Diwas at Trikanjan, Boniyar Listens several public issues, demands

Baramulla : Continuing the government’s initiative of public outreach programme across the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Bhupinder Kumar today presided over a Block Diwas programme at Trikanjan, Boniyar.Joint Director Planning, M. Yousuf Rather, SDM Uri Harvinder Singh, ACD, Yaar Ali Khan, various concerned officers besides different stakeholders including PRIs, civil society members, among other prominent citizens of the area were present on the occasion.During the grievance redressal camp, locals and the PRI members called upon the DC and raised various demands of public importance.The delegations from different areas put forth their issues and grievances including construction and macadamization of roads, frequent curtailment of electricity besides augmentation of staff at different Health Centers.

On the occasion, people also demanded the smooth continuation of drinking water supply in the area.A delegation also demanded for fencing of the Garbage dumping site.People also put forth demand to start direct transport service in their respective areas.The DC gave a patient hearing of all the demands and grievances and assured that all issues shall be taken with the concerned authorities for their timely redressal.While interacting with the public, the DC urged upon the general public to take active part when projects and schemes relating to development and upliftment of the concerned areas are framed and planned.He said that their role will prove pivotal in identifying priority projects, works to be taken in hand through various agencies and departments.The DC also assured PRIs and individuals that the issues and demands they have put forth and registered will be seriously looked into.Moreover, the DC also gave on spot directions for redressal of many issues.
