DC Bandipora reviews Eid-e-Milad (SAW) arrangements

Bandipora : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Mir, Tuesday convened a meeting to review the arrangements being made for the forthcoming Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) in the district.The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Zahoor Ahmad Mir district heads of all the departments, representatives from Wakf Board, Imams of major masjids and shrines besides other senior officials. The DC impressed upon all the concerned departments to ensure all the respective tasks are covered with the highest degree of responsibilities.While chairing the meeting, he enjoined on stakeholders to ensure compliance of Covid SOPs particularly wearing of masks by devotees and maintenance of physical distance. He said that Covid is not over yet so the people need to observe guidelines in letter and spirit. He enjoined officers to remain vigilant and remind people of covid protocol by making frequent announcements. He also stressed for making all the necessary arrangements to facilitate people on the upcoming auspicious occasion.Dr Owais directed the PDD to ensure power supply as per schedule in the district during the revered days and uninterrupted power supply at Ahamsharief Dargah where the largest congregation is expected to take place.

He also directed the department to install Gen-set at the shrine to ensure uninterrupted power supply and Halogen lights for street lighting besides having a standby arrangement of additional Generators.The PHE was also directed to ensure regular water supplies to the major congregation sites in the district and also make arrangements of water tankers at the congregation sites as a backup at these places particularly at Dargah Ahamsharief during the entire period of Eid-e-Milad.The Municipal Council Bandipora was also directed to ensure cleanliness and proper sanitation in and around mosques and shrines.On the occasion, the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs informed that adequate stock of ration is available in the district.The Assistant Regional Transport Office was directed to ensure adequate availability of transport facilities at Ahamsharief to ferry the devotees till late at night. The Police department and ARTO were asked to prepare well thought-out traffic management and parking plans in order to ensure hassle-free to-and-fro movement of vehicles from Bandipora to Ahamsharief.The Health Department was asked to station a critical care ambulance at Ahamsharief and deploy adequate staff to screen the devotees besides other basic medical facilities. He directed them to establish a testing and vaccination counter at the shrine besides making other necessary medical arrangementsDC said a control room will be set up at the Ahamsharief and directed all the concerned departments to depute an official to the control room who can coordinate with respective departments wherever required for the convenience of the general public.
