Covid care centre Supwal in Samba gives rewarding results

Samba : The Covid Care centre Supwal in Samba district has shown rewarding results as 35 covid patients treated in this grassroots level care centre have returned home after full recovery.This Covid Care Centre, in rural area, is among scores of such facilities established in the district, including recently set up Panchayat level centres, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta and on the directions of LG of UT of JK, in the shortest possible time.”Covid care centres are our primary institutions having medical, yogic, entertainment facilities, with round the clock availability of trained staff for treating mild to moderate covid-19 patients” said the DC Samba.Supwal Centre inside Bhargava Degree College emerged as a guiding light by giving highly gratifying results, added the DC said.“In all 50 patients have been admitted in the centre till date and 35 of them left the institution after full recovery, while 12 patients are still being treated as per the Government guidelines,” informed DC samba.Giving further details, she said “Having all basic Medical facilities including Oxygen Cylinders, Oxymeters, Medicines, Oxygen Concentrator, a team of medical staff, and other necessary equipment, the centre has shown remarkable recovery rate.”There are other covid care centres as well in the district with similar facilities and all these institutions are proving to be of great help in lowering load on the dedicated covid hospitals, having more advanced medical facilities required by critical patients, the DC said.“We have also added some entertainment quotients to our centres.
As patients tend to get home sick and we are providing them facilities ranging from entertainment to leisure as the mind needs to be at peace for better and early recuperation” added the DC Samba.The patients are provided food packs of fruits and vegetables with high protein content as per advice of doctors. We are also conducting yoga classes daily morning and evening here at the covid care centre for betterment of the in-house patients, the DC informed further.A recovered patient Rajesh Kumar (name Changed) sounds highly elated while narrating his Covid-19 recovery story.Rajesh said after he developed symptoms of fever and loss of smell & taste he called the district Samba helpline number and within a few minutes an ambulance took him to the covid care centre.”Initially, I had reservations to go to a government Corona care Centre, however the caring attitude of the on duty doctor and the paramedic staff helped me a lot during my stay at covid care centre,” he said.‘At the covid centre we had yoga sessions, and other facilities like personal washroom toiletries etc which was an added luxury.” added Rajesh Kumar. “Yes I will definitely recommend patients with mild symptoms to go to the covid care centre,” responded Rajesh Kumar while sharing his experience.The Bhargava Degree College Supwal covid care centre team also include Naib Tehsildar Pangdour Rattan Chand, Yoga Instructor, Dr. Davinder Mohan and other Front line workers and health care workers.
