‘Back to Village’ improves public delivery system in remote areas : Sanjeev Verma

Visits Maitra Govindpura Panchayat, takes feedback from PRIs, general public

Jammu : Commissioner Secretary Forests, Ecology, and Environment, Sanjeev Verma, today visited Panchayat Maitra in district Ramban during the ongoing Back to Village programme Phase-4 to assess the planning and development scenario of the district.

He was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal Sharma, various senior officers, Sarpanch Mohinder Singh and others concerned.

While appreciating the district administration for developing a better service delivery system in the district, the Commissioner Secretary asked officers to further improve the service delivery system from best to excellent to provide benefits of all social and financial assistance schemes to the last person of the society besides ensuring holistic development of the district.

The Commissioner Secretary also participated in Gram Sabha at Panchayat Hall Maitra Govindpura and interacted with representatives of PRIs to take stock of their issues pertaining to welfare and development of their respective areas.

He also interacted with officers of line departments and obtained feedback regarding various ongoing development works being executed under different flagship schemes.The Commissioner Secretary listened to the issues raised by the participants during Ghram Sabha including development of play field, installation of solar street lights, augmentation of Power Receiving Station, Maitra, clearance of FRA cases, posting of more doctors in NTPHC Maitra, opening of more Anganwadi Centres, completion of water supply schemes and link road projects etc.

Meanwhile, District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam, informed the Commissioner Secretary about initiatives being taken up by the departments of District Administration to resolve all the issues of public interest pertaining to their respective departments.

DDC said that the issue regarding shortage of staff in health institutions has already been taken up with the concerned authorities.Sanjeev Verma also distributed the sanction letters of financial assistance cases under various government schemes of KVIB, JKREGP, Banks besides distributing LPG connections to women beneficiaries under Ujjawala Yojna.

He also distributed Land Passbooks among the legal land owners.Earlier, the Commissioner Secretary planted a sapling in the premises of Panchayat Ghar Govindpura Maitra and asked the people to contribute maximum to develop green cover in their area which is real wealth for our future generations.

He added that in the coming days the Forest Department will be working on the creation of City Forest for the local people to enjoy the green space. He said that the Forest Department will be working on the repair and creation of water bodies for ground recharge which can help the local people in a big way.

Sanjeev Verma also visited Government Middle School Phalti, houses constructed under the PMAY-G scheme besides inspecting developmental works in the Panchayat like the indoor stadium, Residential Quarters of Officers, Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel, and water reservoir.

He also took feedback from the general public about the implementation of welfare schemes as well as developmental activities being executed in their respective areas.He directed the DFO Batote to intensify work on the development of Nagar Van besides developing a city park at Govindpura Matra which is being developed as a Nagar Panchayat.

He also directed the officials of RDD department and PRIs to put a special focus on the implementation of SBM scheme as per guidelines by taking scientific measures for waste disposal.
