Back to Village’ Phase-V concludes successfully in Udhampur District

Udhampur : The fifth phase of the Government’s ‘Back to Village’ program concluded successfully in Udhampur district. The initiative, aimed at enhancing the Government-public interface, received widespread acclaim as officers reached out to citizens at their doorsteps, addressing basic needs and challenges.
Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai, Additional District Development Commissioner Ghan Sham Singh, BDC Chairman Nisha Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr Ranjeet Singh Kotwal, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral and other officials, along with PRI members and the general public, actively participated in the program.
The extensive outreach covered 236 panchayats in 17 blocks of Udhampur, focusing on empowering Panchayats, gathering feedback on government programs, assessing economic potential, and addressing village-specific needs.
Ashok Kumar Parmar, Chairman of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) and visiting officer of Panchayat Tikri-A, engaged with Panchayat representatives and the public, gaining insights into their concerns and developmental requirements.
He interacted with department officers, received feedback on ongoing developmental works and flagship schemes, and attended Gram Sabha at Panchayat Tikri-A with Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai. The Gram Sabha included a comprehensive review of the implementation status of government schemes in the area.
Parmar also inspected exhibitions of various departmental schemes, participated in cultural and sports activities, conducted site inspections of ongoing works, and distributed first aid kits among beneficiaries.
Throughout the day, diverse activities such as Gram Sabhas, cultural and sports events, discussions on flagship schemes, Nasha Mukht pledges, inauguration of Capex works, and inspections of institutions were conducted across various panchayats in the district.
The positive response from villagers showcased their enthusiasm in actively participating and expressing their demands and grievances during this pro-people initiative. Visiting officers were warmly welcomed by PRIs and local residents in the allocated panchayats, fostering a constructive dialogue.
