Ambala : Former Home and Health Minister of Haryana and MLA of Ambala Cantonment, Sh. Anil Vij said that there is destiny in sports, there is a future and athletes are in our soil. He expressed his happiness that the athletes of our state are showcasing their talent and making our name proud in the country and the state and 25 out of the 115 athletes from the country participating in the Paris Olympics are from Haryana.
Former Home Minister Anil Vij was addressing the people as the chief guest at the state-level sports event held at War Heroes Memorial Stadium in Ambala Cantonment today. He said that today is a fortunate day because the Paris Olympic Games have commenced today, the state-level sports event in Haryana has started today and it is also the 25th anniversary of the Kargil victory (Kargil Vijay Divas).
He said that out of the 115 athletes in the Paris Olympics, 25 are from Haryana and among the soldiers defending the country in the Kargil war or on the borders, every tenth soldier is from Haryana. He mentioned that in the previous year’s games, the athletes from Haryana performed excellently, bringing glory to the state and the country.
Our land constitutes 2% of the total area, but we have won 50% of the medals in the country’s tally. Athletes and soldiers are enhancing Haryana’s pride. The state government is consistently working for athletes and brave soldiers, implementing plans from time to time to benefit them.
I have worked to provide better facilities for the athletes of Ambala – Vij
Sh. Vij stated that there is destiny in sports, there is a future and it is essential to provide better infrastructure for athletes. He has worked in this direction and tried to ensure that the athletes of Ambala also receive better facilities.
Under this initiative, an international standard football stadium approved by FIFA, an all-weather swimming pool, a gymnastics hall and a badminton hall have been constructed in Ambala. Additionally, there are arrangements for hostels and canteens for athletes to stay. Efforts have also been made to integrate yoga with sports.
Sports teach us to work together and fulfill our duties – Vij
He said that sports teach us many things like to teach teamwork, working together and fulfilling our duties. Sports play a crucial role in aligning the body and mind and are a means to control both.
One who has mastered the body and mind always advances in life. On this occasion, he also administered an oath to the athletes and gave his blessings for their best performance in the three-day state-level sports competition.
On this occasion, Gymnastics and Football Association President Rajinder Vij welcomed the chief guest, stating that the work done by the sports department and association is yielding good results. Sarbajot from Ambala, who performed excellently in the shooting competition, is participating in the Olympics. He said that the athletes from Ambala are performing excellently, bringing glory to the district.
District Sports Officer Praveen Kumar welcomed the chief guest and informed that teams from 22 districts are participating in the state-level sports event today. Swimming, football, and women’s football competitions will be held in Ambala district. More than 1500 athletes are participating in the competitions organized here. The sports department presented a memento to the chief guest as a token of appreciation.
On this occasion, Gymnastics and Football Association President Rajinder Vij, Division President Bijendra Chauhan, Division President Kiran Pal Chauhan, Arun Kant, B.S. Bindra, Ravi Chaudhary, Ajay Baveja, Sham Arora, Balvinder Singh Shahpur, Narendra Rana, Deepak Bhasin, Vipin Khanna, Sunil Kumar, Abhikant Vats, Sanjeev Soni, Ashish Aggarwal along with other dignitaries were present.

हरियाणा के पूर्व गृह एवं स्वास्थ्य मंत्री व अम्बाला छावनी के विधायक अनिल विज ने कहा कि खेलों में तकदीर है, भविष्य है और खिलाड़ी हमारी मिट्टी में हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि उन्हें खुषी है कि हमारे राज्य के खिलाड़ी अपनी प्रतिभा का लोहा मनवाते हुए देश व प्रदेश में हमारा नाम रोशन कर रहे हैं और पेरिस ओल्मपिक में देष के 115 खिलाडिय़ों में से हरियाणा से 25 खिलाड़ी भाग ले रहे हैं।
पूर्व गृहमंत्री अनिल विज आज अंबाला के वार हीरोज मेमोरियल स्टेडियम अम्बाला छावनी में आयोजित राज्य स्तरीय खेल महाकुंभ में बतौर मुख्य अतिथि उपस्थितजनों को संबोधित कर रहे थे। उन्होंने कहा कि आज सौभाग्य का दिन है क्योंकि आज पेरिस ओलंपिक खेल का आगाज हुआ है और आज ही हरियाणा में राज्य स्तरीय खेल महाकुंभ का शुभारम्भ हुआ है तथा आज ही कारगिल विजय की 25वीं वर्षगांठ भी है।
उन्होंने कहा कि ओल्मपिक पैरिस में 115 खिलाडिय़ों में हरियाणा से 25 खिलाड़ी भाग ले रहे हैं और कारगिल युद्ध या सीमाओं पर देश की रक्षा करने वाले जो सैनिक हैं, उनमें हर दसवां सैनिक हरियाणा का है। उन्होंने कहा कि पिछले वर्ष जो खेल हुए थे, उसमें भी हरियाणा के खिलाडिय़ों ने बेहतर प्रदर्शन करते हुए प्रदेश व देश का नाम रोशन किया है।
क्षेत्रफल के हिसाब से हमारी भूमि दो प्रतिशत है लेकिन देष की मेडल तालिका में हमने 50 प्रतिशत मैडल जीते हैं। खिलाड़ी व सैनिक हरियाणा का गौरव बढ़ा रहे हैं। खिलाडिय़ों व वीर सैनिकों के लिये प्रदेश सरकार निरंतरता में कार्य कर रही है। समय-समय पर योजनाओं को क्रियान्वित कर उनका लाभ दिया जा रहा है।

श्री विज ने कहा कि खेलों में तकदीर है, भविष्य है और खिलाडिय़ों को बेहतर इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर उपलब्ध करवाने की आवश्यकता है। मैने इस दिशा में काम किया है और कोशिश की है कि अम्बाला के खिलाडिय़ों को भी बेहतर सुविधाएं मिलें। इसके तहत अंबाला में फीफा से अप्रूव्ड अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर का फुटबाल स्टेडियम, ऑल वेदर स्वीमिंग पूल, जिम्नास्टिक हाल, बैडमिंटन हाल यहां पर बनाया गया है।
इसके साथ-साथ खिलाडिय़ों के रूकने के लिये यहीं पर होस्टल की व्यवस्था के साथ-साथ कंटीन की भी व्यवस्था की गई है। योग को भी खेल से जोडऩे का काम किया गया है।
खेल हमें मिलकर काम करना और अपने दायित्व को निभाना सिखाता है – विज
उन्होंने कहा कि खेल हमें बहुत कुछ सिखाता है। टीम वर्क, मिलकर काम करना और अपने दायित्व को निभाना सिखाता है। तन और मन की अलाइनमेंट करने में खेल महत्वपूर्ण है, तन और मन को साधने का जरिया भी खेल है। जिसने तन और मन को साध लिया वह जीवन में हमेशा आगे बढ़ता है। उन्होंने इस मौके पर खिलाडिय़ों को शपथ भी दिलवाई और तीन दिवसीय राज्य स्तरीय खेल प्रतियोगिता में बेहतर प्रदर्शन करने के लिये अपना आशीर्वाद भी दिया।
इस मौके पर जिम्नास्टिक, फुटबाल एसोसिएशन के अध्यक्ष राजिन्द्र विज ने मुख्य अतिथि का स्वागत करते हुए कहा कि खेल विभाग व एसोसिएशन द्वारा जो कार्य किये जा रहे हैं, उसके अब बेहतर परिणाम सामने आ रहे हैं। अम्बाला के सर्बजोत जोकि निशानेबाजी प्रतियोगिता में बेहतर खेल का प्रदर्शन करने पर ओल्मपिक में भाग ले रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि अम्बाला के खिलाड़ी आज बेहतर प्रदर्शन करते हुए अम्बाला जिला का नाम रोशन कर रहे हैं।
इस अवसर पर जिला खेल अधिकारी प्रवीण कुमार ने मुख्य अतिथि का स्वागत करते हुए बताया कि आज राज्य स्तरीय खेल महाकुंभ में 22 जिलों की टीमें भाग ले रही हैं। अम्बाला जिला में तैराकी, फुटबाल व महिलाओं की फुटबाल प्रतियोगिताएं होंगी। यहां पर आयोजित प्रतियोगिताओं में 1500 से अधिक खिलाड़ी भाग ले रहे हैं। खेल विभाग की ओर से मुख्य अतिथि को स्मृति चिन्ह देकर उनका अभिनंदन किया गया। मंच संचालन की भूमिका रामनिवास ने निभाई।
इस मौके पर जिम्नास्टिक, फुटबाल एसोसिएशन के अध्यक्ष राजिन्द्र विज, मंडल प्रधान बिजेन्द्र चौहान, मंडल प्रधान किरण पाल चौहान, अरुणकांत, बी.एस. बिन्द्रा, रवि चौधरी, अजय बवेजा, शाम अरोड़ा, बलविन्द्र सिंह शाहपुर, नरेन्द्र राणा, दीपक भसीन, विपिन खन्ना, सुनील कुमार, अभिकांत वत्स, संजीव सोनी, आशीष अग्रवाल के साथ-साथ अन्य गणमान्य लोग मौजूद रहे।
