Ambala : Haryana Home and Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that the foot escalator overbridge in the Civil Hospital complex of Ambala along Ambala-Saha Road will probably be the first escalator to be installed on any road in Haryana. It is noteworthy that this foot escalator overbridge will be built at a cost of Rs 2 crore. Sh. Vij was addressing the gathering present after laying the foundation stone of Foot Escalator Overbridge in Ambala today.
He said that there is an OPD of more than three thousand patients every day in the Civil Hospital and in view of the increasing traffic on Ambala-Saha Road, a foot escalator overbridge was sanctioned. He said that people will be able to reach Civil Hospital directly from Hill Road without going on the road. There is a provision of six months for installing the escalator, but he has given instructions to the Highway Authority officials to complete the project in three months.
On completion of this work, the cut in front of the Civil Hospital will be closed. The Home Minister laid the foundation stone after performing puja and also congratulated everyone on the occasion. During the program, Highway Authority Project Director Ashim Bansal, Municipal Council Administrator Satinder Siwach, Civil Surgeon Dr. Kuldeep Singh, BJP leaders Rajiv Gupta Dimple, Vijendra Chauhan, Kiranpal Chauhan and other were present.

On this occasion, Home Minister Anil Vij took a dig at the previous government and said that earlier the work was done to gain applause by fooling the people. People were fooled by putting up false hoardings to get the Ambala-Saha road approved. He said that the reality is that when we came to power, we saw that there was not even any paper in the file related to this project.
He first got the Ambala-Saha road declared as a national highway. This project was approved after meeting Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, today a new road from Ambala Cantonment Railway Station to Saha is ready on which excellent lights and tricolor lights have been installed.
Cantonment roads are being built at a cost of Rs 110.31 crore, construction work started – Vij
Home Minister Anil Vij said that the rains have ended and the road work has been started from last night. A total of 277 roads are being built by the Municipal Council and PWD at a cost of Rs 110 crore 31 lakh, the work of which has started from last night. Never before in the history of Ambala have so many roads been built. Taking a dig at the opposition parties, he said, “Some cocks start crowing as the day dawns and think that by their crowing the day dawns, but the public cannot be fooled”.
Along with this, other roads are also being constructed by the Marketing Board. He said that the opposition used to make a small puncture i.e. by playing the drum to gain false applause and nothing is being done in the name of development. During his tenure, there has been so much progress in Ambala Cantonment that it has never happened before.
He wants to see heart surgery done in the country’s first civil hospital – Vij
Health Minister Anil Vij said that so far 13 thousand patients have been given stents in the Heart Center of Civil Hospital of Ambala Cantonment. He wants the Civil Hospital of Ambala Cantonment to become the first civil hospital in the country where heart surgery can be done. Steps are underway to build a building for PET scan and heart surgery also. Funds have been sanctioned to build a critical care center here. Similarly, funds have also been released for spinal surgery.
He said that a large number of patients are coming to the Atal Cancer Care Center established in the Civil Hospital of Ambala, there is a need to expand it. The process of acquiring 14 acres of Defense Ministry land behind the hospital is underway. The Chief Minister has announced to build a big Dharamshala and with the construction of Dharamshala, accommodation arrangements will be available for the attendants who come with the patients.
Got many development works done which are benefiting the public – Vij
Home Minister Anil Vij said that the development projects include Government College, Bus Stand, New Grain Market, Mini Secretariat, All Weather Swimming Pool, Gymnastic Hall, Badminton Hall, Subhash Park, Homeopathy Hospital in Ambala Cantonment, Football Stadium, Shaheed Smarak, Yogashalas, more than 125 Dharamshalas, Multi Level Parking, Night Food Street, Civil Hospital, Bank Square cum Shopping Mall and many other projects, most of which have been completed and some are underway. Today Ambala is moving ahead in the category of developed cities, he said.
Expressed gratitude to the people for coming to the foundation stone laying ceremony of the airport
During the program, Home Minister Anil Vij thanked the Ambala Cantonment residents who had recently attended the foundation stone laying program of the Domestic Airport. He said that he expresses his gratitude to all the people, all the institutions, all the workers, all the intellectuals who are thinking about the development of the city and everyone for participating in the program.
