Home Minister’s strict instructions to police officers, every complaint should be disposed off within three months
Instructions to identify all the dilapidated outposts/police stations of the state and conduct a study to give state of art look - Anil Vij

Chandigarh : Haryana Home Minister Sh. Anil Vij today gave strict instructions to the police officers and said that every complaint should be disposed within three months otherwise action should be taken against the concerned personnel.
Apart from this, he directed to identify all the dilapidated posts and police stations of the state and conduct a study to give it a state of art look so that the efficiency of the police personnel can be increased.Sh. Vij was presiding over a review meeting of the officers of the Police Department here in Chandigarh today.
*Emphasis on checking of vehicles at various entry points of the state and regular checking of de-addiction centers – Vij*
To eliminate drugs from the state, he directed the police officers to carry out checking at various entry points of the state so that drug consignments can be prevented to entering the state. In this regard, it was informed that 4473 persons have been arrested under the NDPS Act from whom heroin, Charas, ganja, opium, poppy straw, cocaine, etc. have been seized.
It was told in the meeting that SOP has been prepared and issued to concerned for coordination between Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau and District Police. Apart from this, property of 81 drug traffickers worth Rs 44 crore 99 lakh 71 thousand 312 has been seized.
Similarly, in the year 2023, 108 properties of 14 drug traffickers worth Rs 12 crore 41 lakh 30 thousand 950 have been seized by the competent authority. Apart from this, Sh. Vij said that there should be regular checking of de-addiction centers.
Regular monitoring should be done to enforce traffic rules- Vij
On the issue of traffic in the meeting, the Home Minister said that every year about 6 thousand people die in road accidents and we want that these road accidents should be reduced so that people’s life and property can be saved. Therefore, there should be regular monitoring to enforce traffic rules.
In the meeting, the Home Minister was informed that a central control room will be establised in Karnal to operate 100 CCTV cameras. Also, CCTV cameras have been installed on the highway. It was informed in the meeting that the work of issuing online challan has started by installing CCTV cameras in 12 districts and instructions have been given to issue challan online in the remaining districts.
*Challans should be issued to drivers who break lanes – Vij*
Taking strict cognizance of lane driving, Sh. Anil Vij directed the officers present in the meeting to fully implement the rules of lane driving in the state and for this, challans should be issued to the drivers who break the lane. It was told in the meeting that so far this year, 1.70 lakh challans have been issued for lane driving.
Apart from this, the Home Minister also gave various instructions to the officials regarding road safety and said that in view of road safety, black spots should be identified so that accidents can be prevented.
*Work is being done on soft skills of police personnels- Vij*
While giving instructions to the officers of the Police Department, the Home Minister said that work is being done on the soft skills of the police employees to ensure good behaviour of the police with the people. Apart from this, it has been decided to hold Police-Public Committee meeting at the district level on the last Wednesday of every month to settle various issues of the concerned area. He said that we want to reduce the gap between the government and the common man so that services can be made available to the people in a more accessible manner.
*Police Personnel working in cyber police stations will get better training related to IT – Vij*
Similarly, in order to bring IT related skills among the personnel working in cyber police stations, Sh. Vij directed the officers to provide better training related to IT to the personnel working in cyber police stations so that these personnel are one step ahead of the criminals. He instructed the officers to work on training modules etc. to provide training to such personnel.
*New residences for police personnel*
To increase the efficiency of the personnel in the police department, Sh. Vij instructed the officers that along with the renovation of police posts and police stations, new residences should be construted for the police personnel and there should also be facilities of cook and kitchen in the police stations.
*Police department meeting will be held every month*
While giving instructions to the police officers, Sh. Vij said that the review meeting of the police department will be organized on the second Tuesday of every month in which the head of each branch of the police department will be present.
Similarly, a meeting regarding de-addiction from narcotics will be organized in the first week of every month. Apart from this, various other issues were discussed in the meeting and instructions given by the Home Minister to the concerned officers.
In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Sh. TVSN Prasad, Director General of Police Sh. Shatrujit Singh Kapur, ADGP Smt. Mamta Singh, ADGP Sh. O.P. Singh, ADGP Sh. A.S. Chawla, ADGP Smt. Kala Ramachandran, IG Sh. Sanjay Kumar, IG Sh. Amitabh Dhillon, DIG Simardeep Singh, Special Secretary of Home Department Mahavir Kaushik and others were present.
