Home Minister Anil Vij inspected the water lifting system in Addo Majra regarding canal drinking water supply in Ambala Cantonment

Ambala : Haryana Home and Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij today inspected the water lifting system at Addo Majra in Ambala and got information from the officers regarding canal drinking water supply disrupted in Ambala Cantonment due to breakage of Narwana branch.
Officers of the Public Health Department apprised to theHome Minister Anil Vij that now only two days of drinking water is left due to the breakdown of the Narwana branch. Home Minister Anil Vij directed the officials to restore the supply at the earliest and urged the citizens to use minimum water.
He said that now drinking water will be supplied daily from 5 am to 8 am (3 hours). He also informed that drinking water supply through tubewells in Ambala Cantonment will continue as before.
Home Minister Anil Vij inspected the water pumping motors and storage tanks and discussed with the officials about the supply of drinking water. It may be noted that canal drinking water is supplied through an 18 kilometer long water pipeline from Addo Majra to Ambala Cantonment.
Home Minister Anil Vij reviewed the functioning of the pump house built at Kot Kachhua near Machhunda for stormwater drainage. He inquired about the process of lifting the water in the Tangri river.
During this, Anil Vij reached the river bank despite the mud and checked the water being thrown through the pipe. He inquired from the officers about the pumping capacity of water during heavy rains.
He also gave directions to the officers to improve the drainage system. Apart from this, he reviewed the efforts being made for drainage of water in Ambala Cantonment Industrial Area and gave directions to the officers.
Officers said that the situation here has already improved and the water level has now receded. He asked the officers for cleanliness in different wards and also instructed to get fogging done.
