Haryana Home Minister Inaugurates Multi-Level Parking in Ambala Ahead of Diwali

Ambala : Ambala residents received an early Diwali gift as Haryana’s Home Minister, Anil Vij, inaugurated a multi-level parking facility above Gudgudiya drain on Railway Road, Ambala, at a cost of Rs 19.38 crores. The inauguration ceremony was held on Ambala Railway Road, where Anil Vij praised the local residents and highlighted the ongoing development initiatives in Ambala Cantonment.
He stated that Ambala Cantonment is experiencing robust growth, with new projects continuously being initiated. The region has gained recognition as a rapidly developing city across the country. Vij emphasized the need for a multi-level parking facility, which had been previously overlooked. The newly constructed three-story parking facility will accommodate 350 cars and 300 two-wheelers.
Anil Vij also announced plans to install a lift, which will allow visitors to check for available parking spaces on each floor. The multi-level car park is strategically located above the drain, making it convenient for shoppers to park their vehicles and enjoy the local market.
During the inauguration event, various market associations, including Railway Road Randhawa Market, Rai Market, Auto Association, Gandhi Market Association, Sadar Bazaar, Chauda Bazaar, Hanuman Market, and Bajaja Bazaar, presented bouquets to Home Minister Anil Vij. They expressed gratitude for the new multi-level parking facility, which will ease parking challenges in the area.
Vij encouraged city residents to use the multi-level parking facility and expressed his commitment to improving amenities for the community. He assured that more development work is underway, promising additional positive changes in the near future.
The Home Minister compared the current situation to the past, stating that despite Ambala’s history, no significant development took place in 70 years, and the city was deprived of its rightful benefits. He pledged to deliver on his promise to enhance Ambala’s infrastructure and said that with the residents’ support, substantial progress has been made.
Home Minister Anil Vij also shared details about the parking rates, mentioning that the Municipal Council will operate the facility. The charges for both cars and two-wheelers will be applied on monthly and hourly bases. For four-wheelers, six hours of parking will cost Rs 20, 24 hours will be Rs 40, and a monthly pass will be available for Rs 800.
Similarly, two-wheeler parking will cost Rs 10 for six hours, Rs 20 for 24 hours, and a monthly pass will be Rs 250.He went on to list several development projects completed in Ambala Cantonment, including improved drinking water arrangements, a Shaheed Smarak, Grain Market, Mini Secretariat, Bank Square cum Shopping Mall, an international-level FIFA approved sports stadium, Gymnastic Hall, Homeopathic College, a four-lane Ambala-Saha Road, Subhash Park, and a domestic airport, the foundation stone of which has already been laid.
As the program concluded, Anil Vij personally inspected the entire parking area in his car. He meticulously observed each floor and offered suggestions to Municipal Council officials for further enhancements.The inauguration event saw the presence of various officials, associations, and dignitaries, reflecting the importance of the new multi-level parking facility to the Ambala community.
