Chandigarh : Haryana’s Home Minister Sh. Anil Vij today directed all Deputy Commissioners, Police Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, and District Commissioners of Police of all districts in the state that complaints/greivances sent for re-investigation/inquiry by the Home Minister’s office should be forwarded to other DSPs, and efforts should be made to resolve these complaints/problems within three months.
He also stated in his directive that after every three months, a consolidated report on this should be presented to the his office. Sh. Vij conveyed this message to all Deputy Commissioners, Police Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, and District Commissioners of police of the state via wireless message today. Additionally, a copy was sent to the Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department and Director-General of Police of the state.
In his message, Sh. Vij wrote, “It has been observed that all the complaints which are forwarded from this office for re-enquiry/re-investigation are being sent to the same officer/official who has already been dealt the case which does not serve the purpose of re-inquiry/ re-investigation. Hence I would like that all DCs, CPS, SPs and DCPs also shall take personal interest in fresh public complaints/grievances sent by me and do not send these complaints/grievances to the same inquiry officers in interest of natural justice.
Further it is desired that these complaints/grievances be sent to another DSPs and tried to get these complaints/grievances disposed of within three months and after every three months, consolidated report for the same be put up to the undersigned”. Similarly, Haryana’s Home and Health Minister Anil Vij heard complaints from across the state at his residence in Ambala today. Most complaints before the Home Minister were related to the police, following which the Home Minister directed the formation of a State Crime and SIT for several cases.
Home Minister Anil Vij said that strict instructions have been given that the complaints they send will be investigated by the DSP-level officer and the DSP will be from another zone. Sometimes the police are careless; therefore, a wireless message has been sent to all today, he added.

A person from Faridabad said that on December 13, there was a fight in the NIT Police Station area in which a youth named Rajesh died. The police had registered a murder case against Naeem, Rajan, and Pradeep based on the statements of the deceased’s relatives, but Sector-30 CIA is linking his son Gaurav’s name without any evidence, whereas the deceased’s relatives did not mention his son’s name. The police are troubling them without reason. Taking note of this, Home Minister Anil Vij ordered an inquiry by State Crime.
Directive for State Crime Branch inquiry in the case of suspicion of youth’s murder
A woman from Zirakpur complained to Home Minister Anil Vij, stating that she has been wandering for justice for the past year. She has met the DSP, SP, and DGP, but her complaint was not taken seriously. She said that on the evening of December 4, 2022, she received information from the Pipli Police Station that her son Sumit Malhotra had committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree near the FCI warehouse near the Pipli bus stand.
The police had recovered a mobile and purse from his son’s pocket, but there were no documents, including an ATM card, passport, among others. Also, the mobile did not have a SIM card. She had demanded an inquiry into the suspicion of murder, but the police dismissed the case casually. The Home Minister has ordered an inquiry by State Crime in this matter.
Arriving at the Home Minister’s residence from Ambala Cantonment, a retired soldier arrived with his wife. Here, he alleged while submitting a complaint that his son and daughter-in-law beat him. The complaint has been lodged with the police, but no action has been taken. Taking immediate note, the Home Minister directed action through the DSP at the Mahesh Nagar police station.
Meanwhile, relatives arriving from Rohtak submitted a complaint to the Home Minister, alleging that Rohtak CIA-2 had shot their son without any reason and registered a case against his son. In this case, the Home Minister has ordered an SIT inquiry. Additionally, on the complaint against the electricity contractor in Rohtak, clarification has been sought from the SP for not filing a case. Similarly, on a complaint against the Narcotics Cell, an inquiry has been ordered by the Hisar SP.
