Tranport department committed to provide online services to people : Govind Singh Thakur

Shimla : Transport Minister Govind Singh Thakur chaired a meeting regarding ‘E Transport System’ developed by the department to provide online services to the people here today. On the outset he expressed his deep condolences on the martyrdom of the Sepoy Ankush Thakur of Punjab Regiment who lost his life in the Indo-China army clash in Laddakh area. He prayed to the almighty to provide peace to the departed soul.Govind Singh Thakur said that the transport department is working vigilantly to provide services to the people in their doorsteps. He said that “E Transport System’ is a commendable step taken by the department for the benefit of the people. Under this system people can use online services of the transport department from their home, office as well as from Lok Mitra Kendras. Under this system permits of Goods Trains, Special Road payments, Taxi Permits, Vehicle Registration Certificates, Driving Licenses and Token tax payments services can be availed. He said that under this system services like Vehicle Model Permission would be available in the state and under Smart Transport Service facility a person will have to register himself only once. Under the E Transport System anyone could see the status of his vehicle permit, vehicle model permit, driving training permit etc.Transport Minister said that under this system the more emphasis would be given to the generation of employment to the youth. The youth of the state would be provided Taxi Permits and emphasis would be given E- Riksha System.
