Shimla : On the birthday of the great educationist, visionary and former President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the Governor paid floral tributes on his portrait at Raj Bhavan, today. The birthday of Dr. Radhakrishnan is celebrated as Teachers’ Day.On this occasion, the Governor greeted all the teaching fraternity and said that the Corona pandemic has deeply affected our education system. Schools, colleges and universities had to be closed all over the world. For the last six months, the teaching-learning paradigm has undergone a complete change. He said that on-line learning has become a part of our daily routine. But the relationship between a teacher and a student was not limited to merely imparting instructions or taking exams, it was an emotional and psychological bond which goes beyond mere academic relationship, he added.“I believe that until the students do not feel reverence for their teacher, they cannot learn anything nor can the teacher teach anything. This reverence arises only when teachers are fully devoted to their work and they strive to give the right direction to the new generation and society’, said Dattatraya.
