Jai Ram Thakur dedicates developmental projects worth Rs 73 crore for Banjar area

Shimla : Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur dedicated developmental projects worth about Rs. 73 crore in Banjar Vidhan Sabha constituency of Kullu district through video conferencing from Shimla today.Chief Minister dedicated lift irrigation scheme Reri, Mashanga, Dogadhar in Bhuntar tehsil completed by spending Rs. 1.40 crore which would benefit population of about 1900 persons.Jai Ram Thakur laid foundation stones of lift irrigation scheme Wahami Nala in Gram Panchayat Hurala Naraish to be completed by incurring Rs. 10.63 crore, lift irrigation scheme Damoti, Walagad, Chethar, Khaba of Banjar area on which Rs. 7.14 crore would be spent, lift irrigation scheme Sinud, Hathithan, Khokhan and Haat by spending Rs. 14.16 crore and lift irrigation scheme Bhatgran, Tuniseri of Banjar area to be completed by spending Rs. 1.48 crore. These irrigation schemes would provide irrigation facilities to 567 hectares, 450 hectares, 343 hectares and 128 hectares of land respectively.Chief Minister also performed foundation stone laying ceremonies of additional building of PWD Rest House Gadagushaini to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.47 crore, metalling of seven kilometers Sainj- Deuri road and Neoli-Shaishar road to be completed by Rs. 4.95 crore and Rs. 14.87 crore respectively. He also laid foundation stones of helipad in Banjar area to be constructed by spending Rs. 2.90 crore. He said that rest house would provide better facilities to the locals as well at tourists visiting this beautiful area.Jai Ram Thakur also laid foundation stones of upgradation of 12.5 kilometer Bhuen-Diyar raod to be completed by incurring expenditure of Rs. 11.61 crore and of about 10 kilometers Deuri-Shanad-Shrikot road on which Rs. 6.14 crore would be spent. These roads would benefit about 6200 people of the area.
Chief Minister laid foundation stones of building of Government Senior Secondary School Gushaini to be built by spending Rs. 70 lakh, renovation of bus stand Banjar to be completed by spending Rs. 1.03 crore and construction of car parking at Banjar Bus Stand to be constructed by incurring an expenditure of Rs.2.70 crore.Jai Ram Thakur said that Banjar area has immense potential from tourism point of view. He said that to promote eco-tourism in the area, the State Government has started online booking facility for Forest Rest Houses at Soza and Jibhi. He said that Rs.12 crore Silk Centre was being established at Banjar to promote sericulture. He said that work was in progress on Gadagushani Degree College to be completed at a cost of rupees eight crore. He said that an amount of Rs. 100 crore was being spent on 26 roads under PMGSY in the Vidhan Sabha area. Chief Minister said that the people of the Banjar Vidhan Sabha area has made tremendous contribution during COVID-19 pandemic. He said that people not only donated generously towards the HP SDMA COVID-19 State Disaster Response Fund, but also prepared and distributed face masks to the needy. He appreciated the local MLA Surender Shourie for effectively taking up matter of development of the area. He said that although the cases of COVID-19 in the State have gone up, but still the situation was better as compared to most of the States. He said that all the cases in the State were those coming from other States and were in institutional quarantine and people need not to worry.Horticulture and Jal Shakti Minister Mahender Singh Thakur said that the achievements of the State had been ranked as the best in the country under the Jal Jeevan Mission and credit of this goes to the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. He said that about Rs 15,000 crore was lying unspent in the State with various departments. He said that Chief Minister has directed the officers to ensure that this amount was utilized for development of the State.
Transport and Forest Minister Govind Thakur said that the whole world was today fighting the coronavirus and the number of such cases in Himachal Pradesh was one of the lowest in the State. He said that credit of this goes to the farsighted leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur for taking effective decisions to check spread of this virus. He said that the State Government not only brought back lakhs of stranded Himachalis from different parts of the country, but also ensured proper arrangements to send back people of other States stranded in Himachal Pradesh.Member of Parliament, Mandi Parliamentary Constituency Ram Swaroop Sharma said that the people of the State were fortunate to have an honest and hardworking leader in the form of Jai Ram Thakur leading the State. He said that the State was poised to emerge as a frontrunner State in matter of development in the country.Local MLA Surender Shourie while welcoming the Chief Minister thanked him for dedicating developmental projects worth crores of rupees for Banjar area. He said that Chief Minister has effectively handled the COVID-19 pandemic in the State which has ensured that the epidemic does not spread to community. He said that the area had remained neglected so far in matter of development, but the last about two and a half years have ensured alround development of the area. He also detailed various developmental demands of the area. District BJP President Bhim Sen, Mandal BJP President Baldev Mahant, Deputy Commissioner Kullu Dr. Richa Verma were present on the occasion among others.
