Assam Foundation Day celebrated at Raj Bhavan

Shimla : Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla presided over a felicitation programme organized at Raj Bhavan on the Foundation Day of Assam state. Sh. Shukla said the Northeast states are known for their unique culture, customs and geographical features.
He said that Assam is famous for its captivating religious and tourist sites which make the state a beloved destination for travellers from all over India and the world. “Assam is a beautiful hill state of North Eastern India, which is known for its natural beauty as well as tea gardens, sericulture and attractive traditional arts and crafts.
This reflects the rich culture of Assam,” stated the governor. On the occasion, the Governor also honored the people of Assam living in Himachal by presenting shawls, caps and flower pots. Secretary to the Governor Rajesh Sharma was also present at the occasion.
