Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur presides over Prant Adhiveshan of HP Shikshak Mahasangh

Mandi : While presiding over the ‘5th Prant Adhiveshan’ of Himachal Pradesh Shikshak Mahasangh’ at Kansa Chowk, near Ner Chowk Mandi today, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government would sympathetically consider all the genuine demands of various categories of the teachers.Chief Minister said that most affected category due to the pandemic were the students as all the educational institutions were closed due to lockdown, but still the state government ensured that the students do not suffer by starting several innovative programmes. He said that even smart phones were provided to poor students so that they could also benefit from the online classes. He said that teachers play a major role in Nation building and Nation development. Jai Ram Thakur said that over 8600 new posts of different categories of teachers were filled and 6000 posts of different categories of teachers filled by promotion and over 16000 teachers and other staff were regularized in education department during this period. He said that over 14687 Para, PTA and contract teachers were also regularised during this period.Chief Minister said that the State has shown a way in several fields and education was one such field. He said that credit of this goes to the hard work and dedication of the teachers. He said that the State has reached a level of saturation in expansion and now the Government was laying stress on strengthening of infrastructure and quality education. He said that all the genuine demands of the teachers would be considered sympathetically.

Education Minister Govind Thakur said that even during the corona pandemic, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur ensured that the studies of students do not suffer due to lockdown, for which innovative programmes such as ‘Har Ghar Pathshala’ programme was launched in the State. He said that Chief Minister was always concerned about the welfare of the teachers and has ensured that they get their dues well in time. He said that the State was making rapid strides in the field of education due to the hard work and dedication of about one lakh teachers and non-teaching staff in the Education Department in the State.Prant President of Himachal Pradesh Shikshak Mahasangh Pawan Kumar while welcoming the dignitaries detailed various demands of the teachers. He urged the Chief Minister to frame a policy to regularize the services of 2555 SMC teachers in the State.Rashtriya Sanyukt Mantri of Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shikshak Mahasangh and Sangathan Mantri Himachal Pradesh Shikshak Mahasangh Pawan Mishra detailed various activities of the Shikshak Mahasangh. He said that education should be aimed at welfare and cause of the Nation. He said that teachers have to play a great role of Nation building as only then India can regain the old glory of ‘Vishva Guru’.MLA Balh Inder Singh Gandhi welcomed the Chief Minister in his home constituency and urged him to accept various demands of the teachers. MLA Jogindernagar Prakash Rana, Chairman MILKFED Nehal Chand Sharma, Chairman Waqf Board Rajbali, Chairman Zila Parishad Pal Verma, Chairman APMC Dalip Thakur Vice President Dr Mam Raj Pundeer, Prant Media Incharge Darshan Lal, Director Higher Education Dr Amarjit Sharma were present on the occasion among others.
