Draft Term of Reference for Tourism and Hospitality CoE prepared

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the 8th meeting of Board of Directors of Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam here today said that as per the inputs from the Committee constituted to prepare Expression of Interest for Operating Partners of Centre of Excellence (Tourism & Hospitality and Information Technology) Draft Term of Reference for Operating Partner for the Tourism and Hospitality CoE had been prepared.Chief Minister said that ownership of the land and building pertaining to CoE at Waknaghat was with the Department of Technical Education and would be taken on concessional lease at Rs. 100 per year by H.P. Kaushal Vikas Nigam for operationalisation and training through the proposed Operating partner.Jai Ram

Kaushal Vikas Nigam for operationalisation and training through the proposed Operating partner.Jai Ram Thakur said that specialized training courses in five domains viz. Hotel Operation and Management, Food and Beverages Operation, Food and Beverages Production, Fitness and Wellness and Food Technology would be introduced in the proposed Centre of Excellence. He said that Centre of Excellence would start training modalities from academic session 2021-22 by using existing training facilities of Operating Partners for atleast 100 students.
Chief Minister said that Skill development was the major thrust area and flagship programme of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the State Government was also committed for ensuring Skill upgradation of the youth of the State to make them skilled as per the demand of the industry.He said that it should also be ensured that the trainees get employment as soon as they complete their training for which the Nigam must maintain better coordination with the industry.State Coordinator Kaushal Vikas Nigam Naveen Sharma also gave his valuable suggestions on the occasion. Managing Director Kaushal Vikas Nigam Rohan Chand Thakur welcomed the Chief Minister and other members and also conducted the proceedings of the meeting.Technical Education and Information Technology Minister Dr. Ram Lal Markanda, Chief Secretary Anil Khachi, Principal Secretary Finance Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary Technical Education K.K. Pant, Secretary Education Dr. Rajiv Sharma and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
